Lindsey Dowell is a middle school Gifted Facilitator in Topeka, KS, the heart of the midwest. She was asked to be a fellow in the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes fellowship program in the summer of 2017. In 2019, Dowell was the Kansas Council for History Education Teacher of the Year, and, in 2020, Dowell was named the Kansas Junior Division Teacher of the Year through the Kansas History Day Foundation. She was also honored as one of Topeka’s Top 20 Under 40 in 2021. During the 2023 school year, Dowell was nominated as her district's Master Teacher of the Year.
Lindsey works with students to provide them with opportunities beyond their classroom walls and textbooks to help develop them into lifelong learners. "Connecting my students to the world outside of the walls of our school is a huge passion of mine and one that I would like to continue to learn about and grow," says Dowell.
