Genée Ciurus Major
Genée Ciurus Major teaches gifted/enrichment and grade level English language arts students in a middle school just outside of Chicago. In her career, Genée has worked with students from kindergarten through adults in the humanities with a focus on 6-8th grade. She has published in the English Journal, Illinois Reading Council Journal, and Illinois Association for Gifted Children Journal; presented at National Council of Teachers of English convention and the National Association of Gifted Children conference; twice been awarded the Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth Certificate of Excellence; and earned her PhD In educational leadership In 2008.
Genée's interest in global education has led her to an international middle school conference In Adelaide and teaching in Beijing In 2019. She learns daily from her students the meaning of compassion. She can be reached at gmajor@glenview34.org
