REPUBLIC DAY
The Naval NCC Cadets of St. Joseph's College, Devagiri participated in the 75th Republic Day celebrations held at various places in the district. CC Gautam G Krishna and POC Nanda Gopal K P were selected as the Platoon Commanders at Capt Vikram Maidan and District Court Complex respectively.
At the Institution, Principal-in-charge Dr Satheesh George commenced the celebrations by hoisting the National Flag. ANO of Naval wing Sub.Lt Dr Shinto P Mathew and ANO of Army Wing Captain Binoy Varakkil were present on this auspicious occassion. Various cultural programmes like patriotic song and speech were also conducted.

CHRISTMAS
“Christmas gives us the opportunity to reflect on the important things in life.” This year, the Naval NCC Wing of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri celebrated Christmas with the residents of St. Vincent’s Home, Kozhikode. The cadets interacted with the residents, exchanged gifts and engaged in cultural programs. The cadets also made a contribution to the Home and had a joyous time. Happiness multiplies when shared and the visit of the cadets indeed brought joy to the residents, this festive season.

INDIAN NAVY DAY
The Naval NCC wing of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri organised a Quiz Competition as a part of Indian Navy Day 2023. The quiz, which was organised in collaboration with Devagiri Quiz Club (DQC), saw active participation and winners were awarded with cash prizes.

On the monumental occasion of the 75th NCC Day, as the eyes of the whole nation turn to this vibrant youth organisation, the Naval NCC Unit of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri embarked on a new chapter in its glorious journey by launching its own website. The website was officially launched by Dr. Satheesh George, Principle-in-Charge in the presence of ANO Sub Lt Dr. Shinto P Mathew. NATIONAL UNITY DAY
National Unity Day is celebrated on 31st October every year to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year The Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph's College, Devagiri conducted Unity Run as part of this day. Unity Run was conducted to bring people together and promote unity and solidarity among citizens through physical activity. Our cadets took active participation and completed the run successfully.

RELEVANCE OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
Awareness Programme On Relevance Of Solid Waste Management. In collaboration with IPE GLOBAL LIMITED (TSC - PACKAGE - D), the Kerala Solid Waste Management Project Unit organized a seminar on the importance of solid waste management. The main dignitaries of the programme were Mr.Parshin Raj, Mr Shinto John( Communication & Community Engagement Experts,TSC), Mr.Sreejith( Social Development Expert, TSC), Mr Mahesh Reddy(Team leader ,TSC) and Mrs. Jannet (Social & Communication Engagement Expert, DPMU). The programme was co-ordinated by Sub. Lt. Dr. Shinto P Mathew, ANO Naval NCC. The programme aimed to raise awareness on the significance of waste management in the present society.The session was very effective and became successful with the active participation of Naval NCC cadets and NSS volunteers of St. Joseph's College, Devagiri.

NIPAH AWARENESS VIDEO
During Nipah Outbreak 2023,the Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri made awareness video including precautions regarding Nipah Virus.

NATIONAL TRAUMA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
In collaboration with Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI), the Naval NCC Cadets of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri organized a seminar to highlight trauma and road accidents that included demonstrations on 07/09/2023 .The participants were shown a video presentation on how to handle the trauma victims. Dr. Gautam Thekkayil, Oral Consultant and Maxillofacial Surgeon led the program. The programme was coordinated under the guidance of Sub. Lt. Dr. Shinto P Mathew, ANO Naval NCC. The programme aimed to raise awareness of trauma, its prevention and effects of traumatic experience. The session was very helpful for the cadets and saw the active participation of NCC Army Wing and NSS Volunteers.

TEACHERS DAY
”A teacher presents the past, reveals the present, and creates the future”.
On the birth anniversary of Dr. S Radhakrishnan, which is celebrated as Teacher’s Day throughout the nation, the Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri continued our tradition of gifting teachers with a token of appreciation for their endless service to society. The programme was applauded and welcomed by everyone. It helped in putting a smile on their faces and hearts

INDEPENDENCE DAY
As part of the 77th Independence day celebration, the Naval NCC unit of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri along with the NCC Army wing and NSS Units of the college organised flag hoisting ceremony followed by a rally declaring our immense pride in being the citizens of our great nation and our gratitude to the freedom fighters and countless martyrs who fought for our independence. Dr. Boby Jose, principal of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri hoisted the flag and gave the independence day message. The Rally was flagged off by Dr. Boby Jose. Sub. Lt. Dr. Shinto P Mathew, ANO NCC Naval Wing, Captain, Binoy Varakil, ANO NCC Army Wing, Dr. Robin Xavier, NSS Program Coordinator and College Administrator Fr. Bony Augustine took part in the celebration. The programme was great remarkable as the spirit of patriotism and unity came alive as National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets joined hands with National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers.

FIRST YEARS ENROLLMENT 2023
The Naval NCC of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri is ready to welcome it’s first year cadets as the enrollment process officially ended on Saturday, 5th August. The final physical test and interview was conducted in the presence and supervision of Cdr. Mathew P Mathew, Commanding Officer of 9(K) Naval Unit NCC, Petty Officer Mahesh M Nair and Petty Officer Anil Yadav.
The Enrollment process was successfuly completed by the combined efforts and coordination of Sub. Lt. Dr. Shinto P Mathew, ANO NCC

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING
As part of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph's college, Devagiri performed a street play on 27th June, at the college. The cadets performed a skit, written by NC2 Adwaidh B S. The street play highlighted the misuse of drugs and its abuse in our society. The street play ended with a word of advice to the youth. “Say no to drugs”.

yoga day
21st June is observed as International Yoga day across the world to raise the importance of Yoga in our daily life. This Yoga day, the Naval NCC unit of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri took part in yoga demonstration which was organised by the Composite Regional Centre, Kerala police Kozhikode City, St. Joseph’s College Devagiri and Santi Yoga Centre. The programme was inaugurated by the honourable DIG and City Police commissioner of Kozhikode District Shri, Rajpal Meena IPS. The students along with cadets practised various yogasanas which are helpful for reducing stress and improving mental as well as physical health. The cadets actively participated in the programme which made it a huge success.

BLOOD DONOR DAY
As part of the World Blood Donor Day, the Naval NCC Unit of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri launched Spread the Red 2.0, an app to find eligible blood donors within the college. The app is meant to ease the process of finding the right donor based on the blood group compatibility and the donation history of donors. Principal of the college Dr. Boby Jose officiated the launching of the App. A board with QR codes to enroll as donors, to find the donors and to install the app has been installed in the college for quick access. The cadets also took part in an awareness rally organised by the Devagiri Blood Donors Forum. The app was developed with an intention of promoting the life saving act of blood donation.

ENVIRONMENT DAY
On World Environment Day 2023, the Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri organised a Waste paper collection drive in the college. The paper waste thus collected was given to Ashakiran, a charity organisation that helps children with special needs, for recycling at their facility.

INTERTATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
March 8th is observed as International women's day.
This day is to remind us of the contributions of women in the society as well as to encourage people to fight the patriarchy which exists in our society.
As a part of observing international women's day the Naval NCC Cadets of St.Joseph's College, Devagiri performed a flash mob at Kozhikode railway station in collaboration with Railway Child Help Desk, Kozhikode.
The flash mob was followed by a speech delivered by NC2 Adwaith B.S. The flash mob and the speech helped deliver the women's day message to the general public.

BLACK DAY
As part of observing the Black Day, the Naval NCC Unit of St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri performed a mime as a tribute to the warriors who lost their lives in the Pulwama Attack on February 14th of 2019 . The performance was heart touching and the cadets did a great job in potraying the life of a soldier. On this Black day ,we intend to remind all of you , of the sacrifices of the protectors of the Nation.
11 FEBRUARY
TREKKING
On 11.02.2023, the Naval cadets of St Joseph’s College, Devagiri along with ANO Sub Lt Dr Shinto P Mathew undertook a trekking expedition to Chembra Peak. The group also visited the Ambalavayal Floral Exhibition and Karapuzha Dam.
With our country taking over the reins of the G20 presidency, it is necessary for us to highlight the motto of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. NC2 Nesha Naznen delivered a speech to bring attention to the fact that our actions have a direct impact on our future. The cadets trekked with placards, to raise awareness and gathered plastic waste on the way up. The whole Naval NCC family of the college also had a joyous time together and made great memories

74TH REPUBLIC DAY
On the occasion of 74th Republic Day , we the Naval NCC cadets of St.Joseph's College, Devagiri conducted a quiz competition named " KNOW THE NATION " on Wednesday, 25th of January in collaboration with the Quiz Club . The competition took place at the college seminar hall at 12.15 pm. A number of students participated in the competition. The quiz competition was conducted with a motive to encourage students to know more about the country and it's past. The first and second prize winners will be awarded cash prizes. We thank all the students for their active participation in the competition.

NAVY DAY
As part of the Navy Day celebration, the Naval NCC cadets of St. Joseph's College Devagiri conducted a Webinar, on 4/12/2022 via google meet.
Lt . Cdr . Bijay Nair was the guest of honour of the program. He has been part of Operation Talwar and is decorated with Ops Vijay Star and Vijay medal. The webinar took place in the presence of ANO Sub Lt . Dr . Shinto P Mathew.
Lt . Cdr . Bijay Nair shared his valuable experience which was quite inspiring and informative for the cadets. This was followed by an interactive session with him. His insightful words will be an asset to be treasured. The webinar was a huge success with an active participation from the part of cadets and students.

As part of NCC Day, the NCC ARMY unit of ST.JOSEPH'S COLLEGE, DEVAGIRI organised NCC Day celebration on 26/11/22 in which the Naval NCC unit of the college also took part in.
A Rally was conducted to make people aware of the importance of the organisation and the motto it raises.Principal of the college Sir Dr Boby Jose inaugurated the program. ANO of Army wing Captain Binoy Varakkil and ANO of Naval wing Sub.Lt.Dr.Shinto P Mathew joined cadets in the celebrations.
Cultural programs were also organised and cadets made commendable performances.
