More from Lt Col Richardson:
What do you like most about your cadre role?:
Mentoring the next generation of Air and Space Force officers. I come to work with a smile on my face and leave with one everyday!
Lieutenant Life Lessons:
-- Maintain your professionalism, both in communication and appearance. You set the standard for others. Even when you are walking into the BX, some young Airman or Guardian is watching you. Further, the amount of time you will see your senior leaders will be minimal as Lieutenant. In those brief moments, you want to shine!
-- Don’t be late. Not for meetings, not for taskings. Quick kill petty admin taskings so you do not have to track them.
-- Have fun. Take advantage of experiences and opportunities, in both professional and personal life. Life is about those experiences.
Comfort Food:
I love to eat. All food is comfort food, but Indian is among my favorites.
Dream Vacation:
Anywhere with my wife, but the Maldives and Greece are next on the list. Paris was the best vacation we’ve had so far; so much to do!
A quote / saying that you live by:
“We are like dwarfs sitting on the shoulders of giants. We see more, and things that are more distant, than they did, not because our sight is superior or because we are taller than they, but because they raise us up, and by their great stature add to ours.” Always remember you are a product of your team’s performance. Comes with leadership.
An accomplishment that you are most proud of:
Commissioning my daughter into the Air Force.

Lieutenant Life Lessons:
No one expects you to know all of the right answers as a Lieutenant; you're still learning the intricacies of your career field, your unit, and your job. What is expected is that you are decisive, operate with urgency and initiative, and you come to work with a positive attitude.
Comfort Food:
Pizza...but "real" pizza from New Jersey...everything else is fake.
An accomplishment you are most proud of:
Keeping my family intact during my second deployment during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a 5-month-old at home, and my spouse working full-time.
Dream Vacation:
A few-month long trip cruising across the United States from National Park to National Park.
More from Capt LeDesma:
What do you like most about your cadre role?:
Watching the growth of a cadet from one semester to another is incredible. Cadets absolutely blow me away with their composure, intelligence and capabilities. I am so proud to serve in this detachment with our cadets and alongside a team that genuinely cares about the position we get to play in cadets’ lives.
Lieutenant Life Lessons:
Make friends with the Finance Lt! You will need him/her more often than expected, particularly when your Airmen are having finance issues.
Enjoy that you can live a comfortable life, yet be mindful with money.
CGOs are constantly told to cling to their SNCO, which is absolutely true. However, never underestimate the power/knowledge of the NCOs. They place such a critical role in the mission and likely in your personal/professional development as a supervisor.
An accomplishment you are most proud of:
My deployment to camp Arifjan, Kuwait was the single greatest accomplish of my life. I had the time of my life! The personal and professional growth that was achieved truly impacted my entire viewpoint and was pivotal for some personal changes. My team & I had the ability to visually see how each of us were able to impact the mission & had our own time to work on our own improvements. I will always be grateful for that time in my life.
