I am a 4th grade teacher who loves bringing the love and joy of baking to everyone!
I have been teaching since the late 90s, all in San Diego Unified.
Along with my BA in Theatre Performance, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, GATE certification, and a Masters in the Art of Teaching, I have earned both a reading specialist certification as well as a math specialist certification. I also received my Preliminary Administrative Credential from SDSU.
My husband, Matt, a college professor, and I live in the Del Cerro neighborhood of San Diego. I am an avid distance runner (67 half marathons and 2 full marathons, to date-hey, chubby girls can run, too!) and love to cook vegetarian food, bake (I'm a big baker!), watch cooking shows, and eat. We attend live theatre as often as we can (we have already seen"Hamilton" live three times!!!). My parents (both former teachers) also live in Del Cerro, and we hang out often.
About a year ago, I started teaching baking classes to adults, and soon after that, kids. Now I teach baking classes to anyone who will listen, combining my two passions: teaching and baking. I also lead free monthly community baking parties in our house! People can just sign up and come bake with us! I figure that way we can heal a little bit of the division in the world, one sweet dish at a time!
