Gathered Skirt

This gathered skirt helped me build on my garment construction skills while introducing me to more advanced sewing techniques. I started by cutting and preparing each pattern piece before creating the gathered waist, making sure the fullness was even distributed to create a balanced silhouette. 

One of the biggest skills I learned during this project was installing an invisible zipper. It challenged me to be precise with my measurements and stitching so the zipper blended seamlessly into the back seam. I also practiced finishing the waistband, sewing clean seams, and hemming the skirt to create a polished final garment.
