Employment Opportunity – Assistant Camp Director
Position: Assistant Camp Director
Location: Lloydminster, Alberta
Camp Dates: August 10–14, 2026
Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily (5 days)
Additional Time: Approximately 6 hours of paid setup and cleanup time
Compensation: $20–$23 per hour, based on experience
The Ukrainian Catholic Day Camp is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible Assistant Camp Director to help create a safe, engaging, and faith-filled experience for children attending our 2026 summer camp.
Working alongside the Camp Director, the Assistant Camp Director will support daily camp operations, assist with activity planning and leadership, supervise campers, and help foster a welcoming and positive environment rooted in Christian values.
Responsibilities
Assist with camp preparation, setup, and organization prior to the start of camp.
Help lead daily camp activities, games, crafts, and faith programming.
Support the Camp Director in supervising campers and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Serve as a positive role model for campers through professionalism, leadership, and Christian values.
Help manage supplies, equipment, and activity spaces.
Communicate effectively with camp staff, volunteers, parents, and parish leadership.
Assist with cleanup and site restoration at the conclusion of camp.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Experience working with children in camps, schools, childcare settings, youth groups, sports programs, or similar environments is strongly preferred.
Energetic, outgoing, and comfortable leading groups of children.
Demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Patient, caring and committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all campers.
Must be able to provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to the start of employment.
Faith Requirement
As this is a faith-based camp, preference will be given to candidates who are practicing Catholics and supportive of the mission and values of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.
