A scientific collaboration to develop a global time capsule of life on Earth, curated by young people from around the world. With collaborators Albert Lin and Justin Aglio, we developed and tested a design-thinking curriculum to inspire children to pursue their own moonshots.

A collaboration with the Arthur C. Clarke Center for the Human Imagination, "Designing for the Future of X" brings together scientists, designers and science fiction authors to systematically explore the near future (2015-2030). The mission of the series is “to use design thinking to gain an improved understanding of the possible impact of emerging technologies on the human experience”

The Playpower Foundation uses $10 computers as a platform for engaging and effective learning games. These radically affordable computers are being designed to provide social learning opportunities in emerging middle-class households in developing countries.
2008
How are new technologies impacting human and economic development? In this experimental UCSD course, taught remotely from India, twenty students from multiple disciplines explored the effects of technology on social change.
2007
How does the design of an architectural space affect social dynamics? In this project-based course, 20 students worked collaboratively to plan, produce and document architectural interventions designed to induce observable social change. Recipient of a $5000 Open Classroom Challenge Grant from the UCIRA.
