At Derbyshire Light Medical we can provide medical staff to suit your events needs from Advanced First Aider to Emergency Medical Technician. We also have a Small fleet of vehicles that are available if required

Advanced Firstaider

Advanced first aid staff are the lowest level staff we provide, These come equipped with a basic HSE First aid kit and Defibrillator, they are suited to low risk events such as theatre performances and to bolster staff numbers on larger events under guidance from more qualified staff.

(Preferred ratios are 1x staff member per 250 public)

Emergency medical responder (EMR)

These are our intermediate level staff members, they go through more in depth training and come equipped with a trauma bag including Oxygen, Airway management equipment and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) as standard

(Preferred ratios are 1x staff member per 500 public)

Emergency Medical technician (EMT)

These are our highest level staff members, they have gone through extensive training and clinical placements and are experienced in the recognition, management and treatment of a wide range of injuries, they come equipped with the same kit as Emergency Medical Responders including enhanced airways and vital sign monitoring.

(Preferred ratios are 1 staff member per 1000 public)

Equipped with ILS level equipment. Normally used in support of community groups, city centres and cycling events

ambulance

Used to transport casualties from the incident on the event site to the main gate for collection by 999 services, it is fully equipped with stretcher and EMT level equipment. it comes with 2 staff members EMT/EMR

Cycle responder

These staff can reach any part of an event site quickly and safely, they carry resuscitation equipment, defibrillators and medical/trauma bags

We strive to reduce strain on the NHS, by reducing the number of ambulances called to a site or venue.

These are the statistics taken from the last 4 years that we have been operating. Where possible we will treat people on scene or direct them to alternative services best suited to their condition.

9.4% - Admitted to A&E via 999 Ambulance

18.1% - Directed to suitable services, like GP, Walk in centers, Physio, A&E walk in.

72.5% - Treated on scene.
