Rosalie, with a tummy rumble and a bento bowl dream, bounced into the room where her Nana sat. Nana, with her spectacles perched on her nose and a smile on her face, was writing in her special book. Rosalie, a whirlwind of grey track pants and mismatched socks, started her plea with a wiggle and a dance.
"Nana-Noodle, Nana-Noodle, my bad, I've got a bento bowl on my mind-a-doodle! I've got five dollars in my hand, but for ten more, I'd feel grand! Mummy said if I could get the rest, I'd pass the ultimate bento bowl test! So tell me, tell me, is there a chore I can do-a-roonie, maybe even two-a-roonie, for a ten-buck-aroonie, so I can get that yummy bento bowl-a-roonie?"
Nana chuckled, a warm sound like a purring cat. "Rosalie-Roo, you silly goose, the answer I give is loosey-goose! There's one big chore you can do for me, for a ten-dollar fee, you see. Your room is a jungle, a toy-tumble-toddle, a place where a sock is a mud-waddle-poddle. Tidy it up, from the floor to the sky, and that ten dollars, you shall have by and by!"
Rosalie's eyes lit up brighter than a firefly in a jar. Her mission was set! She dashed to her room, a mess of Dumbo toys, rogue sweaters, and forgotten socks. A true Rosie-style room! But today, she was a tidy-tornado, a clean-up-commander, a put-away-princess! She started with a cheer and an energetic stomp, grabbing her favorite Dumbo plushie. "You'll be my co-pilot, Derby," she said with a grin, as she began her epic tidy-up. She made a pile of clothes for the wash that was taller than a beanstalk, and she organized her markers by color, all lined up like tiny soldiers.
She didn't just tidy, she made a masterpiece of clean! She even made her bed without being told and put her dirty clothes in the basket, all by herself! Her room, once a chaos-cauldron, was now a neat-niceness-nook. With her job done, she excitedly grabbed her Mum's phone, which was sitting on the dining table, and with the FaceTime button in sight, she called Nana, showing her the glorious, sparkling state of her bedroom.
"Look, Nana! It's super 'Sigma'! I tidied my room! Check out the floor, no socks in sight! My bed is made, and my soft toys are all standing tall like a team!" Rosalie shouted into the phone. Nana smiled. "Well, bless my little heart! You did it! It's a miracle!" she said, laughing.
Just then, Mum walked over. She looked at the clean room, then at Rosie's big, hopeful eyes. "Well," she said, with a wink and a smile, "Looks like we have a trip to make for a bento bowl. Grab your shoes, Rosie, we're going for a ride!"
