Director & Arranger
Mr. Porco is excited to start a new season as the Director of the DHS Marching Band. After starting his instructing career in 2010 at Deptford High School, he moved on to the position of Director of Bands at Absegami High School. In 2018 he left to take the position of band director at Deptford Middle School where he currently teaches Music Classes, directs both Concert Band and Jazz Band, and helps with the Summer Music Program.
Assistant Director & Visual Design
Amanda has been with the DHS Marching Band since 2019. She has been instructing and advising award winning programs for over ten years. Alongside the design staff, she develops visual elements of the field show including theme and drill design, as well as marching and movement technique. Amanda currently teaches Elementary Band in Hamilton Township.
Horn Line Instructor
Brian has been with the DHS Marching Band since 2021. He a recent graduate of Rowan University where he earned his degree In Music Education. He served as the principal trombonist with the RU Wind Ensemble. Besides teaching music, Brian's hobbies include hiking and home audio. He has also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Percussion Caption Head
Reef has been with the DHS Marching Band since 2020. He is a graduate of Highland High School where he marched quads, performed and won with their Indoor Percussion Program, and placed first in the I&E Solo Competition. Since graduating, he has taught with Gateway High School, Clearview High School, Highland High School, and Deptford High School.
Colorguard Caption Head
Becca Kramer began spinning colorguard in 2011. She has performed with The Black Watch Winter Indoor Colorguard, Bushwackers and Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps. Following her performance career, she began instructing with Impetus Winterguard and joined the team at DHS shortly after. She is returning to Deptford HS for her fourth season as the Colorguard Caption Head.
Percussion Instructor & Arranger
JC is a percussion educator and arranger in the New Jersey area, returning for his fourth year at DHS. He began his marching career with the Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps in 2015 and went on to march with Cadets2 in 2016 - 2017. He has also participated in Cadets Winter Percussion, Imperial Dynasty, & the George Mason University Indoor Drumline. He currently teaches at United Percussion 2, Bushwackers Drum & Bugle Corps, Highland HS Indoor Percussion, and Deptford HS.
Front Ensemble Instructor
Alphonso Gonzalez is a musician, composer, and educator based in New Jersey. Alphonso received his Bachelor's degree in music composition in 2020 and is currently working on his Master's degree in percussion performance at Rowan University under the direction of Dr. Fabio Oliveira. As an educator, Alphonso was the assistant director for both the Pep Band and Indoor Winds programs at Cumberland Regional High School. Prior to that, Alphonso has also taught marching band front ensembles at Pitman High School and Timber Creek High School and worked as an intern for "Play On, Philly”.
Colorguard Instructor
Lauren began her color guard career in 2015 at Deptford High School. This is her first year on the DHS staff, and she is very excited to be teaching at her alma mater for the 2023 season. Outside of DHS, she has also spun with AMP WinterGuard and Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps. After graduating, she taught with Gateway and Absegami High School, before coming to teach at Deptford. Outside of spinning, Lauren enjoys working at a daycare, swimming, and taking care of animals.
Colorguard Instructor
Zach Is returning to DHS for his second season. He started colorguard In 2018 and has perfromed with Black Watch Winterguard, Bushwackers Drum Corps, Fusion Winterguard, and is performing with Blue Coats Drum Corps this summer. Following his marching career he has taught at Deptford High School and Bridgewater Raritan High School.
Front Ensemble Instructor
This Is Rudy's first year working with the DHS Marchcing Band. Rudy has performed In various orchestras and ensembles, both locally and nationally. He also received the Governor's Award for Instrumental Music while In high school. Professionally, Rudy has performed with a handful of bands In the Atlantic City circuit, gigging on both drum-set and keyboards. He currently studies percussion at Rowan University where he Is working on his Music Education and Performance degrees. Outside of music, Rudy loves to bike and golf, and loves baseball with a passion!
