In addition to a great music education, students involved in this activity develop many important skills such as teamwork, time management and responsibility. The group also gives each student countless opportunities for community service and leadership as they participate throughout their high school career. Most importantly, the sense of community that the Deptford Marching Spartans has created gives each student a chance to make connections and friendships that last far beyond high school.

Winds
Winds
Made up of brass and woodwinds, this section has both musical and visual responsibilities as they create a majority of the forms while performing the musical aspect of the field show.
Percussion
Percussion
The percussion section is comprised of the battery (drum line) and the front ensemble (pit). In coordination with the winds, the percussion section contributes in large part to the music caption.
Colorguard
Colorguard
The colorguard is responsible for adding visual components and imagery to the field show through movement and the use of various equipment, including flags, sabres and rifles.
