IMPORTANT UPDATE:
We are sad to announce that we will not be holding tryouts for the High School Varsity Dance Team for the upcoming 23/24 school year. Unfortunately, the decision has been made due to lack of interest and dancers to successfully sustain a team. We are committed to bringing back a Varsity Dance team to De Pere in the future years when there is more commitment.
We are looking forward to an exciting and busy season! Our purpose is to cultivate a love of dance among its members and to provide spirit within the De Pere community while growing personally on and off the dance floor. Being part of the DPDT is a huge honor and privilege and will require hard work and dedication while making memories and true friendships that will last a lifetime!
Tryouts are open to anyone attending DPHS in the 2023-2024 school year. The dance team season begins in June 2023 and goes through February of 2024. We will be performing at Varsity football and basketball games, competing for local, regional, and state titles with WACPC along with attending various community events.

· Tuesday, May 16th 3:30-5 pm- Skills & Hip Hop
· Thursday, May 18th 3:30-5 pm- Assessment Day
If you are selected as a member of the team, there will be a mandatory parent/dancer meeting on Monday, May 22th at 6 pm at the High School.
You will learn a short Pom/Jazz and Hip-Hop routine as well as performing a skills assessment. Candidates try out in groups and will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on a version of the WACPC score sheet. Try outs will consist of a skills assessment, the routine assessments, and the written portion of the Try Out Packet and will all be considered when determining the final team.
You do not need any dance/cheer/gymnastics training to try out for the team! It is helpful, but not mandatory! The pre-tryout clinics will be very helpful for those that do not have any prior training when prepping for the official tryout audition.
