Still Accepting enrollees/transferees for Second Semester SY2022-2023
Pulong Buhangin National High School (PBNHS) located at Km. 38 north of Manila had its humble beginning more than four decades ago. Mr. Osias Esteban, then Principal of Cornelia M. de Jesus Memorial School, realized the need for establishing a secondary school in the remote yet striving and relatively populous barrio of Pulong Buhangin. Then on the 4th of March, 1968, the barrio officials headed by Bo. Captain, Mr. Cornelio del Rosario and the members of the Barrio Council headed by Remigio Hernandez passed Resolution No. 5 which allowed the filing of a petition for the opening of a barrio high school. The Parent-Teachers Association headed by Mr. Pedro Joaquin also forged their support. The parish priest of Nuestra Señora Del Carmen Fr. Mariano Sanchez showed enthusiasm and worked hard physically and spiritually for the realization of this dream. Consultations with parents followed immediately which resulted to the signing of a petition on March 30, 1968 by 54 hopeful parents headed by Mr. Roling Hermogenes. After all the requirements needed for establishing the secondary school were accomplished, Provincial Council Resolution No. 405 finally paved the way for the establishment of PULONG BUHANGIN BARRIO HGH SCHOOL. July 1, 1968, PBBHS was born. It started with barely P11,000 for operational expense. The bulk which came from the minimal tuition fees collected from the students. Ms. Aurora F. Velasquez and Mr. Arceli Palad were its first teachers. From the time it was established, PBBHS occupied its new building located at the back of C.M. de Jesus Memorial School.
In the same year, PBBHS changed its name to Pulong Buhangin High School by virtue of a department order. On its first year as newly nationalized high school, Mrs. Macaria R. Mudlong was appointed Officer-in-Charge. PBBHS became independent from C.M. de Jesus Memorial School.
The year 1996 saw great development for PBHS. The municipal government of Santa Maria donated 9,664 sq. meter lot situated at Km. 38. The new site is a private land registered in the name of Pulong Buhangin High School-DECS Bulacan under TCT No. 23467. Through the efforts of Mrs. Macaria Mudlong and different concerned officials, several buildings were constructed. From 1986 to year 2000, 37 classrooms and 6 toilets were constructed and the Parents-Teachers Association.
In the SY 1997-1998, the first batch of students moved to their new home, the present site. After a year, the new site had accommodated a total of 1050 students. Towards the end of 1998, the two-store-four classroom building finally housed all the 4th year students. The third year students, however, remained at the old site until the opening of SY 1999-2000. The school changed its name to PULONG BUHANGIN NATIONAL HI GH SCHOOL in 2003.
From the time it was established, PBNHS only had the best academicians who made what it is today.
