Ila Abramson, owner/recruiter of I SPY recruiting, is an independent recruiter for Animation and VFX who began her career in animation working in production on Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas and the ABC stop-motion animation series Bump in the Night. She has recruited for PDI Dreamworks, MTV Animation, and Nickelodeon’s, Nick Digital animation studios in Los Angeles and New York City. Since 2003, her company, I Spy Recruiting, has provided customized recruiting services to help animation and design studios meet their ongoing freelance and full-time staff needs, with a client list that includes 1st Ave Machine, Animal Logic, Chicken Bone, Electronic Arts, Framestore, Laika, Method Studios, The Mill, Psyop, Reel FX, and many others.

2pm - Signe Baumane

Signe Baumane is a Latvian born, Brooklyn-based independent filmmaker, artist, writer, and animator who has made 17 award-winning animated shorts and two feature films. Her most recent film, My Love Affair With Marriage, tells the story of a spirited young woman's quest for perfect love and lasting marriage. It has screened at over 90 festivals winning twenty awards. Signe is a Guggenheim Fellow and a Fellow in Film for New York Foundation for the Arts.

5pm-6:30pm - Mike Rianda

Michael "Mike" Rianda is an American cartoonist, director, and writer. He directed, co-wrote, and was the voice of Aaron in the feature film The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021), which received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Best Animated Feature Film. He is also known for his work on the cult favorite Disney Channel animated series Gravity Falls (2012) as a creative director and writer for season 1, and creative consultant for season 2.
