This class includes a warm up, a skill or strength component, the WOD (Workout Of The Day) and an accessories or finishing component. The warm up gets your heart rate up and your body ready for the challenges ahead. The skill or strength component focuses foremost on learning the proper techniques required for your safety, whilst building strength, improving mobility and flexibilty., increasing speed and power, aerobic capacity and all round stamina.
The WOD can be either time or task oriented and consist of multiple movements to challenge you both physically and mentally. All movements can be modified or scaled to suit each individual athlete from beginner to advanced.
At Demon Crossfit we understand that providing specialty programming tha aims to improve technique is important. Our barbell program is aimed at helping you improve your olympic lifts, whether your goal is to compete or simply just improve your skills.
The barbell program breaks down the snatch lift and the clean and jerk lift. You will also do the accessories and supplemental lifts associated with them. It will typically run over an eight, ten or twelve week cycle with a testing phase at the end. You will work through all the lifts and variations (e.g clean, power clean and squat) in order to bring speed, strength, rythym and explosive power to your lifts and overall training experience.
Our gymnastics classe will help you develop the strength and coordination needed to be as efficient as possible during your workouts. They cover a wide range of drills, from the floor to the rings, in order to help you achieve your goals - from pull ups, toes to bar & muscle ups to handstand walking.
Our coaches will provide you with specific individualised cues for your current abilities and give you the confidence to take your newly develped gymnastics skills and apply them during your Crossfit workouts. Attending this class on a regular basis will open your eyes to a whole new world and show you how important abdominal work is.
Our engine class focuses on working your aerobic capacity which is the highest amount of oxygen consumed during maximal exercise in activities that use the large muscle groups in the legs or arms combined. The engine class will focus on the specifics of rowing, air bike and running protocols mixed with various bodyweight, dumbell, kettlebell, or barbell movements to help you create amore robust and efficient cardiovascular system. Build your engine. Improve your ability to recover.
Our team WOD is a workout that is designed to be done with two or more athletes working together to complete a fair work load ( or a huge bucket of you know what). All of these WODs allow partners to partition or divide the work evenly amongst the team.
A lot of people tell tend to think they aren't fit enough to partake in these, this is simply not the case. If you need a rest, then you take your rest while your team mates pick up the slack. We use everything including cardio machines, kettlebells, barbells, bodyweight movemnts and the rig for gymnastics.
This is always arguably the best and most fun workout of the week. It is all about coming together, having, working hard for each other and celebrating comradery, as well as a big week.
Open gym is a time we've set aside outside of our regular class times for you to do whatever you'd like (within reason of course), classes willl always take priority, please be respectful & fit around them.
Some examples of what you might do at open gym: Work on olympic lifting, Work on gymnastics, Do the daily WOD, Do mobility & stretching. Basically open gym is simply uncoached time to yourself. However there will always be someone around the gym during open gym times to ensure safety, but any coaches present will usually be busy with other duties around the gym.
"I have been attending Demon CrossFit for almost three years now, and I just can’t get enough of it. My favourite things range from the comical classes which create the ultimate atmosphere, and the trainers are next level - you won’t find better. There is no pressure to lift heavy, instead perfect your technique and grow from there. Can’t recommend this gym enough. If you’ve been considering having a crack, now is your time to do so!"

"Best people and environment for your fitness journey. Will not dissapoint."

DEMON OWNER & HEAD COACH - @justinthomasgleeson
Why did You decide to become a Crossfit coach?
"After I did my cert 3 & 4 in fitness & started personal training and running classes, I realised I had a passion for helping people. After about 2 years, I found the sport of Crossfit. I Instantly fell in love with everything about it, especially the methodology:
Pushing myself & others
Competition & having an arena to test yourself in
The community atmosphere
Everyone from all walks of life can participate
Constantly varied daily workouts
So straight away I wanted to be able to provide everyone with the knowledge I had learnt to help them build a better life through fitness."
What do love most about coaching at Demon Crossfit?
"Simple, the people. I love watching people hit or achieve goals whether it be their first pull up, muscle up, PB squat, weight loss or something as simple as a push up on their toes. "
What is your favourite movement?
"The power clean or split jerk."
What Crossfit athlete would you be & why?
"Justin Medeiros - It's the mullet and there are no fatletes that look like me."

What do love most about coaching at Demon Crossfit?
"OMG, there are so many reasons I love coaching at DCF, it's hard to pick just one. The people and supportive environment is probably the stand out for me. Walking into the gym and seeing everyone brightens my day. Getting to help someone is just an added bonus. Just ask Mick (Hubby), I'm happier when I have been to the gym."
What is your favourite movement?
"Deadlifts, no cleans, no deadlifts... They are probably both my favourite."
What Crossfit athlete would you be & why?

If a Hero WOD was named after you what would it be?
"Can I just rename DT to Megsy? I mean who doesn't love 5 rounds of 12 deadlifts, 9 hang power cleans and 6 push presses for time?"
DEMON COACH - @malschofield_819
Why did You decide to become a Crossfit coach?
"I've been personal training for nearly 10 years and would say it's one of the best jobs in the world. Along the journey, I had come across Crossfit and was immediately drawn to it and loved the challenges it brought both mentally and physically. I'm hugely passionate about pushing people and helping them reach their goals. Becoming a crossfit coach helped me expand my knowledge not only for my own training, but for my clients and the members to help them take their training to the next level, no matter what the goals or levels of fitness you are at. Crossfit caters for everyone."
What do love most about coaching at Demon Crossfit?
"That's easy. I've been part of Demon since its doors first opened back in 2016 and have never looked back. I've been around all the crossfit gymas in Tamworth and hands down none of them compare to Demon, Demon had become like a second home. I fell in love with the people, the atmosphere, the training and of course, the banter."
What is your favourite movement?
"Clean and jerk, and muscle ups."
What Crossfit athlete would you be & why?
"Alec Smith. Ask Justin why..."
If a Hero WOD was named after you what would it be?
"The MMMMalcum Special and it would involve some heavy snatch or cleans, assault bike sprints and some muscle ups."

"Dan Bailey because he is a machine."
If a Hero WOD was named after you what would it be?
"It would be called The Bullrider, 1 round for time - 200 double unders, 50 thrusters, 25 calories on the assault bike, 50 burpee box jump overs and 25 calories on the assault bike again to finish. Being an ex bull rider I feel as though after the 50 thrusters and 25 calories on the assault bike, trying to stay upright on the burpee box jump overs would be like trying to ride and hold onto a bull and if you fall it's going to feel the same."
"This gym has the best vibe!!! The coaches who train here are really friendly, supportive and professional. On day one was greeted with a genuine friendly hand shake from the owner Justin who instantly made me feel like part of the team. All the classes I have attended the instructors have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and I have easily doubled my fitness and strength in the short period of time I have been attending. If your looking for a gym with a strong personality and experienced inspiring coaches then I can not recommend demon enough!!"
