Meetings

International physical mobilities are one of the most important aspects of Erasmus+ projects. Meeting on spot allows students and teachers to experience the real meaning of interculturalism and leads students to enhance fundamental life skills such as cooperation, problem solving, acceptance, inclusion and adaptability to new realities.

 THE PATH TO FREEDOM

Middelfart Gymansium hosted the first international meeting of the Erasmus+ project DemEUcracy for ALL from 10th to 16th October 2021. Throughout a whole week teachers and students from Denmark, Portugal and Poland could finally meet  personally after months of waiting anxiously because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Unfortunately, partners from Serbia and Guadeloupe were not  able to participate physically due to the most important aspects of the pandemic restrictions. However,  this didn't prevent partners to allow students and teachers to collaborate virtually and to experience the real meaning of interculturalism that leads students to enhance fundamental life skills such as cooperation, problem solving, acceptance, inclusion and adaptability to new reality

TRANSNATIONAL PROJECT MEETING IN NAPLES- ITALY

 23rd-25th NOVEMBER 2022

From 23rd to 25th November 2022, Liceo Scientifico Elio Vittorini hosted the Transnational Project Meeting. The teachers were welcomed by the Headmaster and by the staff. On the first day, the Italian partner teachers introduced  the Italian school system, the PTOF of their  school, the projects they are currently running, to start a debate on the different school systems as well as on the opportunities for inclusion that schools offer to pupils with disabilities and special needs. The Italian students told their experience during the mobility in Serbia and gave their opinions on the opportunities that the Erasmus+ project offers.

The second day was entirely dedicated to the evaluation of the project through questionnaires, comparative reports and S.W.O.T. analysis. Furthermore, the team teachers collaborated in planning the next activities and the mobility in Strasbourg. Friday 25th November was entirely dedicated to the Job Shadowing experiences; thanks to the collaboration and availability of Liceo Vittorini teachers, the Erasmus partnership colleagues joined philosophy, physics, art class in English ( CLIL methodology) and English and German classes.

The program also included cultural visits to San Severo Chapel, San Gregorio Armeno, the Cathedral and a visit to San Gennaro Treasure.

FOURTH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MEETING IN FRANCE

6Th February - 10th February 2023

Strasbourg hosted the fourth mobility organised by participating students with orientation of their teachers and with  the Italian Team . It was challenging ! The aim of the meeting in Strasbourg was  to let students know the places symbol of Europe and experience the centre of European law-making on spot. The students visited the European Parliament where they also joined a Role Play Game in which they were actively involved in the process for negotiating legislation for the European Union. The University Library hosted the teachers and their students for mixed international group activities during which they made  short videos about some articles from UDHR. The short movies were shown to all the partecipants on the last day. Unfortunately the scheduled visit to the Memorial Alsace Moselle was cancelled because of the transport strike but the teachers organised a virtual visit and group activities in the hotel. Students enjoyed them! The visit to Colmar was very motivating for all the students  who  worked in groups for the Photo Safari Activity.

FIFTH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT MEETING IN POLAND

13th March - 17th March 2023

The last mobility took place in Zamość, where the hosting school was located (III Lyceum Ogolnoksztalcace), and in Krakow. Speed dating, the city game, the robotics activity led by the Portuguese computer science teacher were all very interesting and engaging as the meeting with the Mayor of the city at the City Hall in Zamosc. Students and teachers  were warmly welcomed by everyone and they had the opportunity to present  their schools.

After three days spent in the town, all the teams moved to Krakow for the remaining two days where they visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps. That day was probably the most significant of the whole mobility. Students experienced the suffering and atrocities committed in those places and at the end of the day they were all shocked by what they had observed in that place where lots of years ago people were deprived of their rights and dignity.

The experience with this mobility was truly intense due to the educational and emotional impact it had on the students of all the countries involved. Saying goodbye for the last time wasn't easy for everyone but all the partecipants came back home with a new awareness and personal growth that is primarily due to this Erasmus project. We all learnt a lot !
