(re)Ciclarse en la ciudad is a collaborative digital archive of urban cycling narratives in Mexico, created through ethnographic, participatory, and dialogic methods. Rooted in everyday experience, each story traces alternative ways of inhabiting the city, often overlooked by dominant discourses. Through cycling as both movement and metaphor, this archive reimagines the city from below.
The project has resulted in a co-authored book, 3 academic articles, and a book chapter.
The project has published over 30 collaborative stories, edited 12 chronicles, and shared 4 multimedia galleries, from South to North of Mexico.
A growing collaborative effort, we have implemented ongoing Writing from the Bicycle workshops (online and in-person), and had presence at the World Bicycle Forum in Mexico City, as in other events. The project has engaged over 80 cyclists and 40 collectives across Mexico, and is now building its digital community through the Digital Archive and an Instagram page.
