Douglas E. Miller, Ph.D.

US Weather Asset Analyst

RWE Supply and Trading, Americas

I am the US weather asset analyst for RWE Supply and Trading, Americas, where I highlight areas of trading risks for ERCOT's energy grid, while also maintaining forecasts for RWE's wind and solar assets.

Prior to RWE, I was a post-doctoral researcher at NIU, with a focus on intraseasonal variability of severe convective storms. My Ph.D. work was focused on subseasonal to seasonal (S2S) prediction and predictability of extreme and severe weather. Extended-range prediction is important for the mitigation of extreme events, and this research may prove useful to several socio-economic sectors, such as energy, agriculture, and emergency management.
