My fellow Delta Omicron Brothers,
I am excited to serve as the Delta Omicron Alumni Corporation Board President for my fourth year. I am privileged to serve alongside my fellow brothers from DO, all of whom bring a breadth of knowledge, unique talents, and significant contributions to the board and the fraternity. These men contribute their free time, for no pay, to serve the chapter and the fraternity.
2025 is a tremendously important year for the Delta Omicron Chapter at Western Carolina University. This year, the chapter will return to campus after a three year hiatus where Nationals will be utilizing their staff to recruit and stand up the chapter. If there’s one thing we’ll need more than ever, it’s the support of alumni like you. Our new members will need our guidance, support, and opportunities to succeed, not just as members but as students looking towards the next phase of their lives. Simply showing up and introducing yourself will leave a lasting impression.
With the chapter’s return, I’ve reflected on why I continue working for the chapter, paying into the DO100+, and serving the Fraternity. I truly believe in what Delta Sig stands for as a fraternity. Now, more than ever, men need meaningful and lifelong friendships, networks of support, and brotherhood, especially during their college years. Men are rapidly declining in college enrollment and graduation. Gen Z men are reporting more depression and loneliness than their female counterparts, far exceeding any other generation. 2020 lockdowns exacerbated this and we appear to be moving in the same direction today. I believe the Fraternity is the antidote to this. The relationships, camaraderie, memories, and opportunities that Delta Sig can offer young men is far greater than anything I had experienced prior to my initiation. I believe sharing this experience with these young men is not only essential, but also an embodiment of the pledge we have taken. I would challenge you to look back at your reason for joining and contemplate your future involvement in this mission.
Delta Sigma Phi will celebrate its 125th year in 2025. I hope you find a way to connect with brothers you’ve never met, reconnect with old friends and former roommates , visit the chapter, attend socials, and engage with Delta Omicron as we celebrate this milestone.
I hope to see you at Homecoming 2025!
