Scott L. McNinch was born, on July 4, 1852, in Conesus, Livingston County, New York, and died in the same town on Sept. 23, 1931. He was 79 years old.
McNinch taught in the county schools for 30 years and was a member of the Board of Supervisors for Conesus, New York. He also served as the Conesus County School Commissioner for 11 years.
He began his education at the Dansville Seminary and then attended the Geneseo State Normal School where at 18 years old, he became a founding member of the Delphic Society. McNinch helped draft the organization's constitution and bylaws.
He was a member of the Republican Party and a 33-year member of the local Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Livingston County Historical Society.
McNinch was married to Catherine “Kittie” Coe and the couple had one son named Glenn. His obituary noted him as a prominent member of the Conesus community.
