* Note: If the pre-update health check fails, resolve the issue before performing an update. If the health check does not fail, but displays warning messages highlighting potential issues, check and correct these issues either before or after the update.

Online disk firmware upgrades (ODFU) are typically non-disruptive and do not require downtime or SP reboots. When performing the upgrade via the GUI, the system will let you know if there will be any disruption or not in the "summary" section of the upgrade wizard. You will have the opportunity to cancel the upgrade at this point if you do not wish to move forward.

Existing Dell Technologies customers can view the attached release notes below.

Prior to upgrade cores/service should have at least 5GB free space. Usually deleting old data collects is the best way to free up that space.

Once the version has been identified, go to support.dell.com website and download the latest available software. Generally you may also find the updated firmware for the installed drives. Download both and check the compatibility matrix to ensure a direct upgrade to the desired version is actually supported.

From Settings area, access the Drive Firmware section and click Upgrade Drive Firmware. In the example the installed firmware version is ESF8.

The following warning greeted me in the Cisco UCS Manager today; There was no issue on the host (an ESXi 5.5 server) and everything else on the host seemed normal. This was a recently commissioned B200 M4 server. The running firmware version is 2.25(b). A search on Quick View showed Continue Reading

For SaaS and Cisco Intersight Virtual Appliance (CVA), you do not need to manually download and upload the firmware bundles to the software repository. The selected firmware bundle is automatically downloaded from intersight.com to the FIs during an upgrade.

For more information, see: Managing Firmware in Intersight Managed Mode in the Cisco Intersight Appliance Help Center. Managing Firmware in the Cisco Intersight Managed Mode Configuration Guide for firmware upgrade

For PVA, manually transfer the firmware to the PVA software repository. See the following: Downloading Software Packages for Intersight Virtual Appliance Uploading Software Packages for Intersight Private Virtual Appliance

You can perform this upgrade from any firmware revision starting with version 1.11.11. If the active firmware is older than 1.11.11, you must first upgrade to 1.11.11 before you perform the upgrade. The following apply: Version 1.11.11 applies to appliances including RacKMS. Older RacKMS appliances that have 8 MB of flash memory cannot support firmware versions 2.xx.xx and must stay at 1.11.11. Appliances that have 16 MB of flash memory can be upgraded. These units have serial numbers 12109 or higher.

E-mail home can automatically contact EqualLogic customer support if a hardware component such as a disk, control module, fan tray, or power supply fails, or if the firmware on a PS Series array is updated. E-mail home functionality enables EqualLogic to rapidly respond to issues and assist administrators.

I am trying to add SNMP alerting to EMC unity. Have configured both v2c and v3. The Solarwinds doesnt pick it up so failinig to dd the node. Does one need SRM for this to work? I tried SNMPwalk but that also did not produce any results. The EMC site has MIBs, though it looks like Solarwinds doesnt allow you to just add the MIB? e24fc04721
