Tutoring Expectations
Students should show up on time for tutoring sessions on Zoom. If they are running late, they can contact me to let me know. I will wait for 5 minutes after the session is going to start for them to log in, otherwise the session will be cancelled.
Students need to be ready to work for the allotted time frame. The sessions will be intensive to get the most out of the time frame for the student to meet their goals.
Students will be encouraged to ask questions throughout the sessions to ensure they understand the information and if needed, can be instructed a different way. The main goal is for the student to feel comfortable and safe so they can learn.
Students will need a quiet, calm space for the tutoring session. The student will need pencil, paper, internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone available.
The teacher will be on time for all sessions and if something needs to be cancelled, will give 24 hours notice to families.
The teacher will provide all curriculum for the student to student expect current work from their classes and test prep packets.
The teacher will be on camera and microphone at all times for the student. I will use different screens to project as needed so the student can follow along with an example or ask questions for the steps.
Both student and teacher are expected to have a professional and respectful relationship during tutoring sessions. We are to remain focused unless a quick 1 minute brain break is needed.
Both student and teacher are expected to not record the sessions for privacy purposes. If parents want to be present during the tutoring sessions they are welcome to do so. Please ensure the student is the person completing and attempting the work.
Both student and teacher are expected to put forth effort to reach the main goal for the student during each session.
