My name is Stephanie De Leon. I have taught math in public and charter schools for 8 years grades 4-8. I have worked with all different types of students and am able to individualized tutoring for students based on their learning gaps in math, current curriculum, and overall depth of knowledge of the Texas math curriculum. I am passionate about helping students reach their full potential and enjoy watching them grow in their abilities and confidence. I am here to help your child have the best year possible in math.

Students will attend tutoring at a scheduled time for either 30, 45, or 60 minutes on Zoom. Each student will receive individualized tutoring based on the secure platform. The first session will be a general math assessment for their current grade level and skills that should be mastered to identify learning gaps. Once the learning gaps are identified, an individualized tutoring program will be put together to help each student reach their full potential. The tutoring curriculum will be set up for a short term goal (2 to 4 weeks) and a long term goal (6 to 9 weeks depending on students grading cycle). This will ensure that students are able to track progress and learn to identify their own points of confusion during learning.

All tutoring will start with individualized assessments based on current grade level to see where learning gaps are for students. Once the gaps are identified , we will work toward filling in those gaps as well as keeping up with regular classroom content. This will include a 2 individualized goals, 1 short term and 1 long term, and the current content focus. Students will be given new Zoom codes for every session so everything is privately done. Parents are welcome to sit in on tutoring as long as the student is the one doing the work and calculations.

Students can prepare for upcoming tests or quizzes to ensure they are doing well in class. I will ask for information regarding what will be covered and when the assessment will be to better help prepare as well. We will practice word problems and taking apart questions using critical thinking skills.
