The Right to Education Local Task Force (composed of parents, agencies, and district representatives) was established to assist in improving education for all school-age children with learning disabilities, physical impairment, emotional difficulties, hearing, vision, speech, language and hearing impairments, traumatic brain injury, multiple disabilities, .The Task Force makes recommendations to improve, strengthen, expand and monitor programs and services; speaks on behalf of special education students; and communicates their needs, problems and concerns to schools and other agencies providing special education programs.
We hold 5-8 general meetings during the school year. Most are followed by workshops, panel discussion or presentations.
All Local Task Force General Meetings Include:
* Dissemination of local resources, services, legislative updates, parent and professional training opportunities and discussions on current issues impacting local special education.
* The opportunity to network with agencies, other parents and professionals and help find answers to questions.
* The opportunity to share experiences within the system of special education to advise the State Task Force.
Many General Meetings are followed by presentations.
