The Making a Difference Awards were initiated as a way to recognize and share our appreciation for the many people in our schools and communities who go above and beyond to promote inclusion. Each Winter nominations are submitted by Delaware County School Personnel and Parents. A committee reviews each nomination and designates a student and adult winner from each Delaware County School District.

Student winners could be students who have persevered and overcome challenges to be successful in an inclusive setting. In addition, awards are given to students or adults who promote acceptance and understanding to ensure inclusion of children of all abilities.

Each year the award ceremony is hosted by a Delaware County School District. It is truly a night to share stories of success and celebrate the many gifts that our students bring to their school communities.
