The outfit comprises of a moderately see-through trash bag cocktail dress decorated with a decadent, swooping belt made of silver plastic charms, various chains, and strings of soda tabs. Furthermore, the vest's 'fabric' is made of HEB bags that were lightly sanded and spraypainted a silky matte black. Decorating the vest are soda tabs linked to create tassels, held in place by craft foam that's lined with plastic rhinestones turned backwards (with the silver backs up). Additionally, the arm holes and collar are supplemented with various sizes of binder clips. Continuing on, the hat is cardboard, painted black with a glossy sealant. The hat band is made of soda tabs weaved together with wire, and the tassels are spraypainted HEB bags. The shoes are old dance boots, lightly sanded and painted black, with a glossy sealant. Lining the top rims are added silver eyelets. Finally, the bolo-necklace is made of recycled black plastic, twine, and soda tabs.
Ironically named, the "Bounty Huntress," the outfit is visually and literally loud- something hunters usually strive to avoid. Together, the individual parts come together to create a mysterious, western-inspired character. With this work, I wanted to balance unity and variety. For unity, I used a limited color palette (silver and black) with repeated materials (HEB bags, soda-tabs). For variety, I added an asymmetric, busy belt and used many recycled bits-and-bobs across the work.
