The 2024 Deerhurst Lecture will be given by Professor Michelle Brown on 21st September 2024 at 7.30 pm in St Mary’s church, Deerhurst;  Professor Brown is a distinguished scholar of early medieval art and culture. She was Curator of Illuminated Manuscripts at the British Library (1986–2004) and has published extensively on many significant manuscripts including the Lindisfarne Gospels. She has also worked on the early manuscripts of St Catherine’s monastery, Sinai.  The title of her talk is: The Mercian Marches and their Manuscripts

The 2025 Deerhurst Lecture will be given by Robert Walker, who has recently published an outstanding study of The medieval stained glass of Herefordshire and Shropshire (Logaston, 2023).
