The Priory Church of St Mary's Deerhurst is in the parish of Deerhurst which is four miles south of Tewkesbury, close to the river Severn. It is famous for its Anglo-Saxon architecture and the annual lecture on its history and significance held in September. It is one of six churches in the Severnside Benefice and services are held twice a month (for times go to the Severn Side Benefice (https://severnsidebeneficewithtwyning.org.uk/calendar/).. The Friends of Deerhurst Church was formed in 1984, its aim is to assist in the preservation and upkeep of the church.
Opening Hours
St Mary's is open every day from dawn to dusk and visitors are always welcome.

The 351 Gloucester to Tewkesbury bus goes five times a day to Apperley from Gloucester and four times a day to Apperley from Tewkesbury. Apperley is about one mile south of Deerhurst Church. Ask for Deerhurst turn (see bustimes.org).
It is a two and a half miles walk along the river Severn from Tewkesbury on a public footpath
By road it is further (Deerhurst is on the river and roads take the higher land, meaning a detour). Take the A38 south of Tewkesbury towards Gloucester, turn west onto the B4213 and then right to Deerhurst.
