Below are some resources and study strategies that you can use to do well on AP Art History MCQS!
Resources:
Art History site: https://sites.google.com/view/ocsaaparthistory/ap-review
This site is from the teacher Mx Fleet! It has note guides that you can fill out using the Barrons AP Art History book, presentations that have notes on the every piece, Quizlets about all the 250 pieces, a comprehensive list of terms, lecture videos, and essay questions from past years! It has almost everything to help you prepare.
Khan Academy
Khan Academy has lectures and articles on every single piece if you are struggling to get the material and the small details of the art.
Quizizz has practice tests for almost every single Art History unit. Just look up "AP Art history" (I did that in the link). If nothing shows up, look up the individual style (Ex: Baroque art).
Crack AP has many practice tests for AP Art History. Additionally, if you have other history APs or are taking the SAT, it has practice tests for those as well!
Quizlet
I have made quizlets with the identifiers (look up AP Art History Unit ___ Details) and quizlets where it shows you a picture of the piece and you have to say its name (look up AP Art History Unit ___ Identification). These quizlets help you with the MCQ and the LEQ (where you need to write two identifiers).
This site!
Deep Dive into History has explanations of the art styles and the pieces in that style! Hopefully, it is very useful for you if you don't understand the material.
Sample Study Strategy:
Here is a step-by-step of my study strategy for the MCQs:
1st: Read Barrons AP Art History book (it helps to do it out loud)
2nd: Handwrite Fleet's note guide using the Barrons Book
3rd: Do a mini presentation about each piece using Fleet's slides and the Barrons book (to supplement what isn't on Fleet's slides)
4th: Do practice quizzes on Quizizz and Crack AP
When I was in AP Art History, I was able to do well on the MCQs because I figured out a study strategy that was very helpful for me. However, there are many ways to study, so if my strategy doesn't work for you, there are other resources that can help you out!
