“Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to better”- Pat Riley.
Karandighi Deepayan Shishutirtha was established in 1997 on the birthday of Bapuji, the Father of the Nation. The school began its journey with seventy students and seven teachers, marking the beginning of an educational endeavor driven by passion and dedication.
The renowned poet and writer, Late Kiran Gopal De Sarkar, bestowed the institution with the name "Deepayan Shishutirtha," where "Deepayan" symbolizes "the source of light." The school stands as both an academic initiative and the cherished dream project of its founder, Shree Koushik De Sarkar.
The name "Karandighi" traces its origins to "KarnoDighi," a term rooted in mythology. According to legend, Karna, the famed archer of the Mahabharata or in conflict Raja Karno, once visited this place for hunting. It is believed that he bathed in the Dighi (a large pond), offering prayers to Surya Deva while chanting the mantra:
"Om Jaba Kusuma Sankashan..."
From this legend, the Dighi came to be known as KarnoDighi and the land as today's Karandighi.
Today, Karandighi Deepayan Shishutirtha stands as the finest school in the region, illuminating young minds with knowledge and wisdom.
