Privacy Policy for Deepam - Kerala Lottery Result
Last Updated: 18 May 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Deepam - Kerala Lottery Result ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our mobile application (the "Service").
Deepam is a free, ad-supported application that gives users quick access to Kerala State Lottery results published by the Kerala State Lotteries Department. The app is an independent and unofficial platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Government of Kerala, the Kerala State Lotteries Department, or any official lottery body. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
By installing or using this Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We are committed to collecting only the minimum data necessary to operate the Service. We do not collect personally-identifying information unless absolutely required.
a) No Personal Information We DO NOT collect:
• Your name
• Phone number
• Email address
• Postal or precise GPS location
• Government ID, PAN, Aadhaar, etc.
• Payment or financial data
You can use the entire app without creating an account.
b) Automatically Collected (Anonymous) Information
To operate the Service, deliver push notifications, and improve quality, we and our third-party providers may collect:
• Anonymous device identifier — a randomly-generated Firebase Installation ID used to subscribe your device to push-notification topics. Not linked to your real identity.
• Device model, manufacturer, and Android version
• App version and language preference
• Anonymized in-app interaction events (which screens you visit, which features you tap) via Firebase Analytics
• Crash reports — anonymized stack traces and device model when the app crashes (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Approximate location derived from your IP address by analytics providers (country-level only; never GPS)
• Google Advertising ID (a per-device, user-resettable identifier) — used by Google AdMob and the Meta Audience Network mediation adapter to serve relevant ads
c) Locally Stored Data
The following stays on your device only — never transmitted to us or any third party:
• Cached lottery results for offline viewing
• Recently viewed draws and search history
• Saved tickets you add for win-tracking
• Language preference and notification toggle state
You can clear this anytime by clearing app data or uninstalling.
3. How We Use Information
We use the collected information solely to:
• Provide and maintain app functionality
• Deliver push notifications when each lottery result is published (FCM topic broadcasts)
• Match your saved tickets against new results and notify you of wins
• Show ads (which keep the app free) via Google AdMob with Meta Audience Network as a mediation partner
• Identify crash patterns and ship fixes faster
• Understand aggregate feature usage so we can improve the app
We DO NOT:
• Sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone
• Build targeted advertising profiles ourselves — ad targeting happens inside Google AdMob, governed by Google's policies
• Combine data across users in any way that identifies an individual
4. Third-Party Services & Advertising
The Service uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
a) Advertising
• Google AdMob — https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
• Meta Audience Network (mediation partner) — https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy
b) Notifications, Analytics & Stability
• Google Firebase: Cloud Messaging (FCM), Installations, Analytics, Crashlytics
Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google's general privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
These services may collect technical identifiers (device model, OS version, network type, advertising ID) under their own policies. We do not have access to any personally-identifying information held by them.
5. Consent for Personalized Advertising (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
If you access the Service from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) will show a consent dialog the first time you launch the app. Through this dialog you can:
• Accept all ad-personalization purposes
• Reject all (you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized)
• Manage your choices for each purpose individually
You can revisit or change these choices at any time through Settings → Manage ad consent in the app, or by clearing app data and relaunching.
6. Data Storage and Retention
• We do not maintain user databases on our servers.
• We do not store personal identifiers on our servers.
• Firebase Analytics retains anonymized event data for up to 14 months (Google's default).
• Firebase Crashlytics retains crash reports for up to 90 days.
• FCM topic subscriptions persist until you uninstall the app, toggle notifications off in Settings, or revoke the notification permission at the OS level.
• Local data (saved tickets, settings, cached results) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app.
7. Lottery Results & Information Disclaimer
Deepam is an information-only application:
• We display lottery results aggregated from publicly-available sources and the official Kerala State Lotteries gazette PDF.
• Despite our best efforts, displayed data may contain errors, delays, or omissions.
• Before claiming any prize, you must verify the winning ticket number against the official Kerala State Lotteries PDF published at: https://statelottery.kerala.gov.in/
• We do not conduct lottery draws, sell tickets, or facilitate prize claims. Tickets must be purchased only from authorized lottery agents.
We accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on data shown in the app.
8. Children's Privacy
Lottery participation is restricted by Indian law to adults aged 18 or above. This app is therefore intended for adult users (18+) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If we discover that a child has used the app, we will work with you to delete any associated technical identifiers — please contact us.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect information:
• All network requests to our servers use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher.
• We do not transmit any personally-identifying data over the wire because we do not collect any.
• Local device storage is sandboxed by Android — only the app itself can read its files.
No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Rights & Controls
You have full control over your data:
a) Universal controls
• Stop all data collection by uninstalling the app
• Reset your Google Advertising ID anytime: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
• Revoke notification permission: Android Settings → Apps → Deepam → Notifications → Off
• Disable result notifications in-app: Drawer → Notifications → toggle off "Result alerts"
• Clear all locally-stored app data: Android Settings → Apps → Deepam → Storage → Clear data
b) EEA, UK, Swiss users (GDPR)
You have the right to:
• Access the data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion
• Object to processing or request restriction
• Withdraw consent for ad personalization (via the UMP dialog or Settings → Manage ad consent)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority
Because we do not collect personally-identifying data, requests for access/deletion typically resolve quickly. To exercise these rights, contact the email below.
c) California users (CCPA / CPRA)
• You have the right to know what data is collected.
• We do NOT sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under CCPA. Advertising shown in the app is served by Google AdMob using device-level identifiers; you can disable ad personalization via Android Settings → Google → Ads.
• To exercise California rights, contact the email below.
11. International Data Transfers
The Service uses Google's global infrastructure. Anonymized event and crash data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer where required. Google maintains GDPR-compliant transfer mechanisms (Standard Contractual Clauses).
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do:
• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page is changed
• For material changes, we will additionally surface the change in-app
Continued use of the Service after such updates means you accept the revised policy.
13. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, data-deletion requests, or want to exercise any of the rights described above:
