Deen: singer

Suzan Deen was a singer with the Poontang Riders

Discography

Biography

Poontang Riders was founded in the fall of 2005. The band is formed around the charismatic rock and roll frontwoman Suzan Deen with the aim of rocking the way rock is meant to be. No bullshit, just play nice and get the audience to listen to countless rocking and swinging songs. The band is ambitious and in good harmony. Large and small stages, bars, youth centers, festivals, from Alkmaar to Amsterdam to all corners of the world, no occasion is too big or too small. Poontang Riders diligently play every gig as if it were their last. In October 2006 'Poontang Fever' was released with 5 own songs, varying from heavy power rock to bluesy grooves. In February 2008, the studio of Ocki Klootwijk (including I`ve got the Bullets, v.o.f. de Kunst, Barry Hay and his Barking Dogs) recorded the new mini-cd 'Magnetized' in 'Rocktown'. The soon to be released CD contains 6 own songs which were mixed in mid-May by Rob van Boeckel of New Road Studios (Rich Wymann, Busted, Henk Westbroek, Dany lademacher). 'Magnetized' produces a new poontang sound that makes standing still almost impossible. You can already listen to and download the songs via the website www.poontangriders.nl. Love for music is the main motivation, with unbridled commitment and modest means we try to get as far as possible. In the meantime, Poontang Riders have built up a good live reputation in recent years and have become a well-known presence in the North Holland region. The preliminaries for the 'Indian Summerfestival' (21-06-2008) and the 'Pepperfestival' in Hoorn (6 September 2008), for example, went very well. The band was in good shape in Manifesto Hoorn as well as in Parkhof Alkmaar, so the individual juries were convinced and selected the band for the aforementioned festivals. Considering the sheer number of bands that took part, quite an achievement to be proud of and proof of its growing form and stature. The band is steadily working its way up, transferring passion, fun and enjoyment to the audience is our biggest challenge.

those who ROCK salute you.

Fuad Bakovic, better known by his stage name Deen (born 4 December 1982 in Sarajevo), is a Bosnian singer.

Deen participated on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song In the disco. It is called an homage to disco music. Because of the song's close resemblance to Donna Summer's music, it (as well as Deen himself) has often been the subject of heated debate. The song In the disco eventually ended up in ninth place (source).

Deen in religion

Deen is usually translated as 'the way' or 'religion'. People also find 'a way of life' a nice description that is sometimes used. If we look at the meaning of the word in the different Semitic languages, דין dīn in Hebrew/Armenian means something like 'law' or 'justice'. In Arabic, the two root letters D(a) N(oen) دين mean something like 'obligation' but are generally translated as religion (source)
