If swimmers can do the following, then Clipper Swim team is a great place for them. If they haven't yet mastered all of this, we would suggest trying Mini Clippers or lessons first.
For swimmers aged 10 and under:
1 Each swimmer must be able to complete one (1) length of the pool without stopping and without assistance from the wall, lane line, or flotation device. The swimmer must be able to complete this task for two (2) different strokes in legal swimming form.
2 Each swimmer must be able to dive safely into the pool OR be willing to learn how to dive safely into the pool.
For swimmers aged 11 and older:
3. Each swimmer must be able to complete two (2) lengths of the pool without stopping and without assistance from the wall, lane line, or flotation device. The swimmer must be able to complete this task for two (2) different strokes in legal swimming form.
4. Each swimmer must be able to dive safely into the pool OR be willing to learn how to dive safely into the pool.

As per league rules, there is a requirement of 5 meets per swimmer to attend. In order to increase our team attendance, we are asking swimmers to commit to attending 6 mieets (code of conduct form). We have a Tri-meet on December 8th. If a swimmer attends this meet, this will count for two meets. Therefore you still would only need to physically attend 5 meets to meet our new team requirement.
As a safe rule of thumb, we always say that a meet takes three hours. If it is faster than that, it is a bonus for everyone! This is where it is very important to have volunteers at each meet so we can finish timely.
The LAST DAY to register & pay with absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS will be Thursday, November 28, 2024. If you are not registered AND paid by this day, your child/ren will NOT be allowed to swim this season with the Clippers. We need to turn a final list into the league officials on November 30, 2024.
