Professional development and dissertation framework

My primary interest of research centers on the psychology of patient vulnerability, particularly in patients who are recovering from sever illness such as prolonged intubation, stroke or injury resulting in the loss of independence such as in the case of amputation patients.

I will be sitting for the Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) in June and intend to sit for the CNEn within the first 6 months of obtaining a role as an educator. I have also applied for the UCF Healthcare Simulation Certificate program. My 2 years goal is to obtain my CHSE and cultivate my dissertation in preparation of beginning my PhD. My work aligns closely with that of Mr. Hernandez expertise in simulation and Dr. Brian Peach’s work with PTSD in ICU patients.

I believe that working with the UCF STIM Center presents the greatest opportunity for attainment of my long-term goals through collaboration with experts in these fields. I also believe that my experience, aspirations and education as a graduate Knight Nurse positions me to be an asset to the College of Nursing.
