Shubhangi completed her Integrated BS-MS Dual Degree from IISER Mohali, majoring in Biological Sciences. During this time, among other research experiences, she interned at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Intelligence, studying prosocial behaviour in parrots, which inspired her to explore the neural circuits underlying cognition, motivation, learning, and decision-making. She landed at the Donders Institute for her Master's Thesis, investigating how prior knowledge shapes spatial learning and memory in rats performing the HexMaze behavioural task. Shubhangi is currently a first-year PhD scholar at the Decision Lab, IIT Kanpur, where she is exploring the interface between learning, decision-making, and their underlying neural mechanisms using EEG. Outside the lab, you can find her playing badminton, watching F1, planning a trip, or crocheting her new top!
