Hera Fatma

Hera completed her bachelor's degree in biotechnology, focusing primarily on environmental biotech but developing an interest in neuroscience through various article write-ups. This sparked her curiosity about the brain and its complexities. After finishing her B.Tech, she went on to pursue an M.Tech, joining the lab in November 2023 to further explore her budding passion for neuroscience that began during her undergraduate studies. Currently, she is immersed in her research on finding neural correlates for explore-exploit behaviour in schizophrenia. She is fascinated by the intricate balance between exploration and exploitation in the brain, and what goes awry in disorders like schizophrenia. Beyond the lab, Hera finds respite in painting and calligraphy. Long walks in nature, soft lighting, binge watching and music soothe her active mind although she is highly averse to dancing!
