Aswin is a final-year Integrated BS-MS student at IISER Mohali, majoring in Biological Sciences with a Data Science minor to investigate the computational and biological basis of decision-making. He built his foundational research in the neurobiology of memory formation under Dr. Samarjit Bhattacharrya. Following this, he completed a SURGE internship at the Decision Lab titled "Trait Anxiety’s Impact on Decision Making During Pavlovian Instrumental Conflict". He is currently completing his Master's thesis at the Decision Lab, focusing on "Modeling Contextual Modulation of Pavlovian Avoidance via Latent-State Inference", driven by a lifelong ambition to uncover the functional architectures of consciousness. Outside of research, he enjoys debating science and analytical philosophy, sports, and tinkering with everything from digital art and video editing to Linux and making systems in Obsidian.
