Products you put on your skin can also cause stress on your body? A lot of products are made with harmful ingredients. Even if the products say "Botanical" Essential Oils" (aka Green washing) they can still contain toxic ingredients. These ingredients can be absorbed into your bloodstream and cause an added stress to your body which can lead to illnesses and disease.
One of the key ways to identify if your product is possibly harmful is by looking at the product ingredient list and find "Fragrance" or any variation of this word. If it doesn't say what exactly is the fragrance, i.e. made with essential oils then good, then most likely this product is toxic to your body. Fragrance is how companies hide toxic ingredients and unfortunately it is allowed by the FDA.
Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, cosmetic products and ingredients do not require FDA approval before they go on the market. The exception is color additives (other than those used in most hair dyes). Companies and individuals who market cosmetics have the legal responsibility to ensure the safety of their products. FDA encourages cosmetic firms to report product formulations through the VCRP. The VCRP database provides important information on these cosmetics. However, the companies are not legally required to tell FDA about their products and safety data. Read more HERE
Please, read your ingredient labels and at the least, stay away from fragrance, parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde donors, oxybenzone and EDTA.
