CompressImage is an Android app that helps users compress, crop, resize, batch process, preview, share, rename, and delete images on their device.
1. How the App Works
CompressImage primarily processes images locally on your device. The app does not require account registration and does not upload your selected images to our own servers for compression, crop, or resize features.
2. Information We Access
The app may request access to photos and media on your device so you can:
- browse images in the image picker,
- select one or more images for compression, crop, resize, or batch processing, and
- view or manage saved output files.
On older Android versions, the app may also request storage access so it can read selected images and save processed images back to your device.
Only the images you choose, or the media your device makes available through Android permissions, are used to perform the actions you request.
3. How We Use Your Data
The app uses local device data only for core functionality, including:
- loading images you select,
- generating compressed, cropped, or resized output files,
- showing previews and output history, and
- sharing files when you explicitly use the Android share sheet.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Saved Files and Device Storage
Processed images are saved on your device in:
Pictures/CompressImage/
You can manage these files inside the app or directly from your device storage. If you delete an output item from the app, the corresponding file may also be removed from device storage.
5. Sharing and External Services
When you tap Share, the selected file is only passed to the app or service you explicitly choose through the Android system share sheet.
The app may also open external links or another app in our app family when you choose certain features. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Crash Reporting
CompressImage uses Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google, to help detect app crashes and improve app stability.
Crashlytics may collect technical diagnostic information such as:
- crash logs and stack traces,
- device model and operating system version,
- app version,
- installation identifiers used for crash grouping, and
- general app state at the time of a crash.
This information is used only to diagnose and fix app issues. We do not use Firebase Crashlytics to serve ads or track personal behavior inside the app.
7. Analytics
CompressImage uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google, to understand general app usage and improve the product.
Analytics may collect app interaction and technical usage information such as:
- screen views inside the app,
- feature usage events such as selecting a tool or starting and completing image processing actions,
- counts and coarse technical values related to processing, such as selected item count, quality level, output size, and estimated savings, and
- device and app metadata that Google Analytics for Firebase may use for reporting and aggregation.
We do not use Firebase Analytics to collect the contents of your images. We do not intentionally send image file names, image URIs, or the image data itself through analytics events described in this policy.
Analytics data is used in aggregated form to measure feature adoption, diagnose product issues, and improve the app experience.
8. Permissions
You can revoke photo, media, or storage access in Android Settings at any time. If permission is denied, some parts of the app may not work, including image browsing, image processing, and saving output files.
9. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
