The DECEP project examines how circular economy policies and business models shape inequality, redistribution, and broader social outcomes, with the aim of clarifying who benefits, who may be disadvantaged, and how circular transitions can be designed to be both environmentally effective and socially fair.
The DECEP project is led by Dr Julie Metta and hosted by the IREGE economics laboratory at Université Savoie Mont Blanc (France). It is suppervised by Prof. Aude Pommeret (Laboratoire IREGE, USMB) and includes an outgoing research phase of around 18 months to work with Dr Florian Landis at ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences), and collaboration with Prof. Reyer Gerlagh from Tilburg University (TiU). Dr Metta also contributes as a voluntary researcherr with HIVA, KU Leuven (KUL).
