Debate Sensei is a YouTube channel with over 450 videos introducing students to debate. Run by a series of dedicated coaches, there is no one singular author or influencer. However, videos over the last two years make it clear the channel focuses on current controversies and brings in known topic experts on the issues the cover. Specifically, all debaters and coaches should watch this foundational video on communication theory. 

Gwyneth A. Jones, in her blog The Daring Librarian, discusses the benefits of collaborative student experiences. Speficially, she touches on the benefits of Jigsaw Explorer allows students to work in teams (or independently) to solve puzzles of varying complexities on their computers. This tool allows students to work together to problem solve, regardless of whether they are together in the classroom. That makes this tool ideal for incorporating online students or facilitating a more collaborate culture in an online environment. This tool can easily be used as an ice breaker, team building activity, or as a reward for good behavior that also teaches critical thinking skills and teamwork.  This tool is free and does not require a log in, making it easy to access at a moments notice. Jett Smith, who is a speech and debate coach in Idaho, created a YouTube channel focused on policy debate basics. He does not have social media but has posted dozens of videos, in addition to being able to follow along through his team success on Tabroom. Best Video.

This tool has two ways to be utilized: First, students watch and learn from the Gen Z Teaches TikToks that currently exist. Second, students CREATE a Gen Z Teaches TikTok for their assignment event or content area. They should watch TikToks in that genre to get an idea, then write a detailed script.
