Tax Policy
I believe that in order to have a economy that works for everyone we need to make sure that everyone has to pay less taxes. I would do this by supporting and pushing for bills that would lower tax brackets and increase the standard deduction. By doing this I would be putting more money in the pockets of everyday Americans allowing for everyone to be able to spend and put more money into the economy. In addition I would like to see much of the tax policy moved to the states away from the already massive federal government.

Trade Policy

For trade policy I believe not in retaliatory tariffs against nations for trade status, but instead working to create trade deals that will increase American exports and help American workers instead of taking harsh action that will make things more expensive and greatly hurt the average American consumer in addition to reducing U.S. exports. Especially when U.S. goods and services exports supported an estimated 11.3 million jobs in 2013 and every billion dollars of goods and services exports supported nearly an estimated 5,600 jobs in 2013. (according to The Office of the United States Trade Representative)

Federalism and States' Rights
I believe that the best way to have a more efficient government is to decentralize the government and allow local and state governments to do more. Who would know better how to fix a Detroit school than a Detroiter or who better to help create farm policy for Minnesota than a Minnesota farmer. Lately the federal government in this nation has been getting unwieldy with near unlimited power, and it is time to end this and restore the founding principle of federalism that this nation was founded upon.

Guns and Safety
I believe that a key part of American tradition and safety is based around healthy and safe gun ownership. I believe that every law abiding and mentally sound person should be able to own and safely use a gun of their choice without excessive government overreach or regulation. I want to encourage and support people who use their legal weapons for self defense of themselves and others. I would support laws that give protections to those who use their weapons to defend others, and for laws that make it easier for people to carry their weapons for self defense.

Currently the United States leads the world in healthcare innovation and research, but many want to destroy this by an implementation of a medicare for scheme would could raise costs for many people for worse coverage and would destroy innovation in healthcare. I would reduce regulation in the industry to allow for greater innovation and the creation of new and great medicine and treatments.

Government Shutdowns

I believe that government shutdowns are irresponsible and unfair to many as essentially it means that us as Congressmen can not even do the one most basic job we were elected for which is to keep the government running. If elected I would do anything in my power to prevent a government shutdown from happening and work with my colleagues in the house to stop a government shutdown from happening through any legislative measures available.

In addition I would support and encourage legislation that would make it so government employees who are forced to continue working without paid in any future possible shutdowns are paid as they are the backbone of the government. If someone still is working then they should be paid!
