Policy refers to the official statements and pronouncements of support for gender mainstreaming issued by the organization. These may be in the form of department orders, special orders, administrative orders, memoranda, and executive orders that spell out the commitment of an organization to pursue gender mainstreaming. It also includes national and sectoral plans, specific guidelines, manual of implementation and the GAD Framework/Strategic Plan. 

In order to address gender issues relating to our employees and clients, the Davao City Water District (DCWD) formulates, enhances, and reviews policies to respond to the pressing gender concerns. Further, we ensure that Gender and Development are incorporated in our organizational Vision, Mission, Strategic Goals, and Departmental Plans. This will remind us that each member of the organization should take part in inclusive development and ensuring a gender sensitive environment.

Proper formulation and implementation of these policies reflect a safe and healthy working environment where rights of every employees and clients are respected and protected. Through these, the organization expresses its recognition and acceptance of gender mainstreaming as a critical and legitimate concern, even in broad or general terms.
