The prior dream of every individual  is to build their own homes. Life mission has been a ray of hope for many . 

This initiative was started in order to give safe homes for the poor and the eligible people of our state.  As a volunteer we feel proud being a part of this mission. During the initial stage of this programme many amongst us were hesitant to do the call but as it went by , we felt on track as people started sharing their emotions and we could connect to them. This mission not only helps people in need but also imparts certain qualities, skills and character in many of the Volunteers like us. This also has encouraged us to have a close look into what and how this world is. This programme has also helped us to have closer interaction with society and also gave us the chance to be a part of bringing back a smile on the faces of many who always wanted a roof above their head.

Interning with Life Mission has helped me made understand the true picture that homelessness is a global humanitarian disaster. However, if we all work together, we can make the world a better place for all. Any effort, no matter how tiny we can make a difference. It is not necessary to be a billionaire to inspire change. In our own unique ways, we can all contribute to the end of homelessness. The fruitful idea generation of a collaborative approach itself turned out to be significant one, herein. While having conversations with the beneficiaries, we understood where the gap existed and they moved forward with the mission. Being an MSW Disaster Management student, I could learn the fine line of mechanisms to be followed for such initiatives to be in place. Working in such a machinery helped me realise to have a holistic approach and to be able to connect it with the ground realities. A proper monitoring and follow-up is the key to any kind of interventions or projects in place. This initiative has moved beyond the paper tiger concept is what I’d say. From the theoretical interpretation of my study what I have understood is that having a place to live increases the chances of displaced families establishing significant social, economic, and cultural links with their host community. People who are incorporated and integrated into the local community are better equipped to restore their life and live in dignity. A secure and healthy household minimises the likelihood of acquiring mental stress. Many displaced children are traumatised as a result of the violence. Even the most basic shelter and settlements aid can help conflict and disaster-affected communities regain a feeling of normalcy.

As volunteers, we felt happy interacting with new people and it also encouraged us to have closer interactions with society and indeed , gave us the opportunity to be a part of putting back a smile on the faces of people who have always desired to have a home. Being an outstation student, I could broaden my network and improve my social skills as well. What one needs to understand is that our age or living situation, being a part of such initiatives can help take our mind off ones personal troubles, keep one mentally stimulated and bring more spice to our life. This mission not only assists those in need but it also instils specific traits, abilities and character in many Volunteers like us. With a broad smile on my face and cherishing memories of working with a dynamic group all I would like to say is that, I am extremely proud being given the opportunity to work with LIFE MISSION. Last but not the least, to all my fellow interns, to all the people who joined hands for this cause and to the people of Kerala ; Ours is a time when inclusive coexistence is required, Ours is a time that demands openness and sharing thus let us remain committed to preserving world peace and fostering common development, upholding the spirit of cooperation, inclusivity and openness and working together for a better future of permanent peace and common prosperity.

ജൂൺ 29ന് ലൈഫ് മിഷൻ്റെ കോൾ വർക്കിൻ്റെ ഒരു ഭാഗമാകാൻ എനിക്കും അവസരം ലഭിക്കുക ഉണ്ടായി. എനിക്ക് നിർദേശിച്ച ലിസ്റ്റിൽ ഉള്ളവരുമായി ഫോൺ കോൾ മുഖേന ബന്ധപ്പെടുകയും അവരോട് വീടിൻ്റെ നിർമാണ പുരോഗതികളെ കുറിച്ച് ചോദിച്ചു മനസ്സിലാക്കുക എന്നതായിരുന്നു കർത്തവ്യം. ഇതിൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായി എല്ലാ ഗുണഭോക്താക്കളെയും കോളിൽ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു, ആ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പലരും തങ്ങളുടെ വീട് എന്ന സ്വപ്നം സഫലമായതിന്റെ സന്തോഷങ്ങളും, പലയിടങ്ങളിൽ വൈകുന്നതിന്റെ പരാതികളും വിഷമങ്ങളും പങ്കുവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. കൂടുതലും പ്രായംചെന്ന ആളുകളായിരുന്നു. ഈ പ്രോഗ്രാമിലൂടെ പല ഇടങ്ങളിലെ വിത്യസ്ത ആളുകളുമായി ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തിയതിലൂടെ ഒരുപാട് അനുഭവങ്ങൾ കേട്ട് അറിഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ നൽകിയ  ഓരോ മറുപടിയിലും അവരിൽ സന്തോഷവും, ആശ്വാസവും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നെനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ സാധിച്ചു. അവർ എന്നെ മാഡം, സർ എന്നുമാണ് അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്, കൂടാതെ എല്ലാവരും വളരെ ബഹുമാനത്തോടെ ആണ് പെരുമാറിയത്. ഈ വർക്കിലൂടെ കേട്ടറിഞ്ഞ ഒരുപാട് അനുഭവങ്ങൾ എന്നും ഒരു നല്ല ഓർമ്മയായിരിക്കും

It was a great opportunity to be a part of this internship with Life Mission Kerala. It was quite a different kind of volunteering duty. It was an absolutely wonderful experience to interact with many people as a part of data collection.

 I was a bit nervous on the first phone call.  But from the next call it got interesting.  I really enjoyed it.  Everyone spoke to me with great respect and I felt like I was someone else.

It helped improve my social skills as well as my communication skills quite a bit. I am really grateful for this opportunity.

ലൈഫ് മിഷൻ ൻ്റെ ഭാഗമായി അതിൻ്റെ ഗുണഭോക്താക്കളുമായി സംവദിച്ചപ്പോൾ വീടില്ലായ്മ എന്നത് ആഗോളതലത്തിൽ നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന ഒരു പ്രശ്നമാണെന്നും അത് പരിഹരിക്കാനായി ഈ പദ്ധതി ഏറെ ഗുണകരമാണെന്നും ബോധ്യമായി. ഈ മിഷന്റെ ഒരു വോളണ്ടിയർ പ്രതിനിധി എന്ന നിലയിൽ ഞാൻ വളരെ സന്തോശവതിയാണ് എന്തെന്നാൽ ഇവരുമായി ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തിയപ്പോൾ സമൂഹത്തിൽ പാർപ്പിടസൗകര്യം ഇല്ലാത്തവരുടെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളും വിഷമങ്ങളും എത്രത്തോളം വലുതാണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലായി. 

വിളിച്ചവരിൽ പലരുടെയും വിഷമങ്ങളിലും വീട് പൂർത്തിയായവരുടെ സന്തോഷങ്ങളിലും എനിക്ക് പങ്കുചേരാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞു. ഈ ദൗത്യം മൂലം ആവശ്യമുള്ളവരെ സഹായിക്കുക മാത്രമല്ല ഞങ്ങളെപ്പോലുള്ള വോളണ്ടിയേഴ്സിന് ഒരു സാമൂഹിക പ്രതിബദ്ധത വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുവാനും സഹായിച്ചു. വീടില്ലാത്തവർക്ക് സുരക്ഷിതവും മാന്യവുമായ പാർപ്പിടസംവിധാനം ഒരുക്കി കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഈ ഒരു മിഷന്റെ ഭാഗമാകാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞതിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.

ലൈഫ് മിഷന്റെ ഭാഗമായിട്ട് വന്ന കോൾ വർക്ക് നല്ലൊരു വൊളന്റിയറിങ്ങ് ഡ്യൂട്ടി ആയിരുന്നു എനിക്ക് സമ്മാനിച്ചത്.

ലിസ്റ്റിൽ തന്നവരുടെ വീട് നിർമ്മാണത്തിന്റെ വിവരങ്ങൾ ശേഖരിക്കുന്നതിന് പുറമെ നമ്മുടെ തന്നെ ആശയ വിനിമയ നൈപുണ്യം എത്രത്തോളം ഉണ്ടെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ഈ ദൗത്യം ഏറെ സഹായിച്ചു. മാത്രമല്ല വ്യത്യസ്ത ആൾക്കാരോട് സംസാരിക്കുക എന്നതും വളരെ രസകരമായൊരു അനുഭവമായിരുന്നു. ചിലരൊക്കെ അവരുടെ വിഷമങ്ങളും മറ്റും പങ്കുവയ്ക്കുകയും ഉണ്ടായി. എന്നാൽ എന്ത് പറഞ്ഞ് ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കണം എന്നറിയാതെ ആദ്യം നിസ്സഹായനായി കേട്ടിരിക്കാനെ എനിക്ക് സാധിച്ചുള്ളൂ. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ പദ്ധതിയെ കുറിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ അറിയുവാനും,  അതിനുശേഷം എങ്ങനെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ  പരിഹരിക്കണമെന്ന് പഠിച്ച് കൃത്യമായ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകുകയുണ്ടായി. ആ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ ഗുണഭോക്താക്കൾക്ക് ഒരുപാട്  ഗുണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയെന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞതിൽ എന്നിൽ ഒരുപാട് സന്തോഷം നിറയ്ക്കുകയുണ്ടായി.

മറ്റു ചിലരാവട്ടെ എന്നെ സർ എന്നൊക്കെ വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചത് എന്നിൽ ഒരുപാട് സന്തോഷമുണ്ടാക്കി. എന്നാൽ അവരിലൊരാളെന്ന പോലെ തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോട് സംസാരിച്ചത്.

മൊത്തത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞാൽ നല്ലൊരു വൊളന്റിയറിങ് ഡ്യൂട്ടി ആയിരുന്നു. ഇത്രയും നല്ലൊരു അനുഭവം സമ്മാനിച്ച ലൈഫ് മിഷന് ഒരുപാട് നന്ദി അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

 I am Revathi.R.S , I am  a student of Allsaints' College Trivandrum  . As a part of NSS scheme I got an opportunity to work with Kerala state Life mission . As we all know LIFE Mission  of the Government of Kerala is to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged member's of society. My duty is to contact the officers and the owners of the house and collecting data's from them. Honestly , I would like to say it was a great experience for me. I had got an good communicative  interaction with them. After that I can understand  their life situation and how much blessed we are when we compare them to us. There are lots of poor people's who are still living in poverty and homeless. The Government has taken good initiative for this by helping the poor. May this scheme becomes a great success . I would like to thank CEO of Life mission and all other team members for your full support to us . Thank you for involving us to this Life Mission project .

2022  ജൂൺ മാസത്തിൽ നടന്ന ലൈഫ് മിഷൻ്റെ വിവരശേഖരണ പ്രക്രിയയിൽ ഒരു ഭാഗമാകാൻ എനിക്കും അവസരം ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു. ലൈഫ് മിഷനുമായി ചേർന്ന് പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞതിൽ എനിക്ക് അഭിമാനമുണ്ട് അതിലുപരി സന്തോഷവും.

 നാം കണ്ടതും അനുഭവിച്ചതും നിന്ന് നേർവിപരീതമാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ ജീവിതം എന്ന തിരിച്ചറിവ് ഉണ്ടാകാൻ ഈ പ്രവർത്തനം എന്നെ സഹായിച്ചു.  കോളേജ് കേന്ദ്രീകൃത പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ മാത്രം ഒതുങ്ങിയ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അതൊരു പുതിയ ലോകം തുറന്നു തരികയായിരുന്നു.

 പല പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ  ജനങ്ങളുമായി  സംവദിക്കുവാനും അവരിൽ നിന്നും പലതും മനസ്സിലാക്കുവാനും സാധിച്ചു. ചില സമയങ്ങളിൽ പഠനപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായി മാറിനിൽക്കേണ്ടി വന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ലൈഫ് മിഷൻ എനിക്കൊരു പുത്തൻ ഉണർവായിരുന്നു.വിവരശേഖരണം എന്നത് അത്ര എളുപ്പമായിരുന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ ഓരോ ഓഫീസർമാരുടെയും സഹകരണമനോഭാവം വിവരശേഖരത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളെ അതിയായി സഹായിച്ചു. കുറച്ചൊക്കെ പ്രയാസങ്ങളും അതിലുപരി മധുരമായ ഓർമകളും പകർന്നുനൽകിയ ലൈഫ് മിഷൻ ടീമിന് ഒത്തിരി സ്നേഹം മാത്രം.
