Does DCSV have a general email address?

No, but you can use the contact form instead.

I am a true amateur, not a strong chess player. Can I still become a member of DCSV?

Of course you can. We do not consider playing strength when it comes to membership.

Can I come and have a look at DCSV?

Yes, you can come twice on a club evening and even play along before you decide whether you want to become a member.

Is there a minimum or maximum age requirement for DCSV?

No, chess club DCSV club does not have a minimum or maximum age requirement.

Does DCSV also organize simultaneous games?

Yes, we usually organize two simultaneous games per year: a Summer Simultaneous games and a Winter Simultaneous games.

Do I need to bring my own equipment when I come to play chess at DCSV?

Except for simultaneous games, you will need to bring a pen or pencil to record your moves.

Chess boards, chess pieces, chess clocks and score sheets are available.

How does the internal competition at DCSV work?

The internal competition is played according to the DCSV-systeem.

Does DCSV also take part in external competitions?

Yes, DCSV enters at least one team in the HSB-competition. You can participate in this competition if you are asked by the Achttallencommissie (Eight-Player Committee) to play in a team.

Does DCSV offer training sessions or courses?

This website offers a collection of online chess lessons (mainly in Dutch).

In addition, chess games are often analysed afterwards.
