Here are some of frequently asked questions and answers

*What classes do you offer?

Dcolorex Arts and Crafts for All, offers the following classes:

 First strokes: ages 4 to 6The ABC of Art: ages 7 to 16. Adult’s class 17 and up.  

*What grade level is class for?

Dcolorex curriculum is appropriate for preschool age children to 12th grade.   Students learn about color Theory, Composition, Drawing, Perspective, Ancient Art History, Old Masters,  other Cultures. 


*How many students are in each class?

Regular painting class sizes are limited to 8 students max to ensure personal attention from the teacher and ample space to work.


*Are parents required to stay?

 Due to limited space, parents are not  allowed to wait on-site during classes.  Children 4 to 5 years old need to be accompanied by an adult, but parents are advised to allow children to work freely and independently.


*When does the next session starts? When will those classes be posted?

This is an ongoing afterschool program, it runs all year around. Students can start anytime.


*What are the studio hours?

Children classes: I am attending school myself, therefore at this moment I  am offering classes 2 evenings per week.  Tuesdays 5:30 to 7:00. for 9 to 14 years old.    Fridays  4 to 6 years old,  from 4:30 to 5:15 PM.  Fall 2024 I will resume regular schedule. Homeschooler are welcome to schedule different hours in 2024.

Adult Classes: please call 774-573-9378 to inquire for availability.


What do I need to bring to class?

 Dcolorex Provide all the material for the children lessons.

Adults provide their own materials and supplies, since they should work at home too.


*Where are you located?

Dcolorex Arts and Crafts for All is located at 98 West St, Milford Ma.


*Arriving and pick-up time

Please arrive on time. There is plenty of parking.  Arrive no more than 5 minutes before the class to drop-off and please pick up at the listed dismissal time.

Late pick-ups may be subject to a $1/minute fee.

Please note that 3 to 5 years old need to be accompanied by an adult, but parents are advised to allow children to work freely and independently.

When dropping the child, please let us know if someone else is picking up your child. We require written or in person verbal confirmation, so please send an email or let us know in person.  These people will be required to show ID upon arrival.

Can I bring food/snack to a class?

No for  the Children's  Regular classess of 1:20 minutes,  the time is limited.  The other participants get distracted by the one that is eating.

Summer Camp classes we encourage to bring your own snack and lunch, nuts free.

Are you a nut free facility?

We strive to be allergy aware and provide a safe environment for your child.  Parents/Guardians are responsible for indicating any allergies or other medical conditions of the child upon registration, and promptly updating us if there are any changes to that information.  ANY FOODS CONTAINING NUTS OR NUT INGREDIENTS ARE KEPT AWAY FROM THOSE WITH ALLERGIES AND IT IS NOT OUR POLICY TO SHARE FOOD.

 Note "We exercise reasonable care and precautions to minimize the risk of food-related allergic reactions by implementing, communicating & enforcing our allergy aware policy; however,Dcolorex Arts and Crafts for All,  does not in any way ensure that the risk of food-related allergic reactions are completely mitigated, nor does it assume liability for any food-related allergic reactions. Parents/Guardians assume full responsibility for their child’s allergies and medical conditions and those participants that carry an epi-pen are required to sign an epi-pen waiver before participating in any activities.

 *How do I register for a class?

Please visit DColorEx.com , go to the class listing you want and click on “register” or use this link Register. 

To RSVP or PURCHASE you will need to REGISTER on online or contact us at the studio.

Workshops require a minimum number of participants and some require advanced sign up, so please don't wait until the last minute!

Please RSVP by 9 pm the day before Painting Night, Workshop and Family Night Out, so that we know you're coming and can set up the studio for you.  Many of these classes do sell out.  This will be available fall 2024  

Drop-ins are always welcome if there is space available.   Classes will be canceled if the minimum of 3  is not signed up by 9 pm the night before.

*Can I pay when I get there?

Yes, you can pay at the studio with cash or check when you arrive.  Full payment is required when registering for a class, camp or workshop.

There is a $30 returned check charge for any checks or debit transactions returned by the bank.


*What is your cancellation policy?

If a class or event is canceled due to inclement weather, instructor illness or other factors, we will contact you ASAP and those classes or events may be rescheduled.  If rescheduling is not an option, a refund will be given. 


WEATHER CANCELLATIONS

In the event of hazardous driving conditions in Milford MA, the class will be canceled.

In the event of a weather related cancellation, we will do our best to offer opportunities for make ups.

DColorEx takes into account the anticipated size of the class. If a class has very few signed up, The decision to cancel will be made no less than 2 hours prior to a class.

If you are signed up for a class that has been canceled, you will receive a text message. If you are not sure if your class has been cancelled (because you never received a text) please check our facebook as your definitive guide before getting on the road, it could be snowing in my neighborhood and not anywhere near your home town. Cancellations will be posted.


*How earlier do I need to cancel a special event?

Reservations must be canceled  two (2) weeks in advance by phone or email to receive a credit or transfer.  Please check your dates carefully.  Late cancellations are not transferable or eligible for credit or refund.

Classes will be canceled if just 2 participants are registered by 9 pm the night before the special event.  In the case of a cancellation, we will contact participants with a refund and/or alternative date options.


*Is there any sibling discount?

Yes, siblings have discounts for The ABCs of Art.   6 to 16 years old

First Child (5 classes) $103,   Second Child (5 classes) $ 103,  Third Child (5 classes) $83

First Child (1 class) $21,   Second Child (1 class), $ 21 Third Child (1 class) $17


*Can I bring my child’s friends to class?

In a case where you would like to give a pass to a friend, please have the friend's parent/legal guardian register.  We need every parent/legal guardian to sign our Liability Waiver and have emergency info on hand for each student.


*Can I bring guests?

 Depending on the class. Right now the First stroke class is full and  unfortunately my space is limited.

 Please call in advance, to  make sure there is space available in the class you are attending.


What do i need to bring to camp?

Summer Camps: Bring a nut-free snack and lunch, water bottle, bag to take home art in and wear sunscreen if needed. 


Do you take donations?

Yes! lt is always a good policy lead by example, donating  inspire children  to consider be generous with the community. So,  we will appreciate that  you think of us when you have any of the listed items and we’ll put it to good use!

Tops to squeezable fruit pouches,

Extra art supplies: mix media pads,  drawing pad, watercolor paper, dryerasers markers, sharpies,  acrylic paints, liquid watercolors, sponges, drawing related material, guesso, glue.

Paper towel 

Yarn, trimmings, sewing notions, beads

Wood scraps and especially hardware-preferably small-medium pieces so small hands can build.

 Does DColorEx host  birthday parties?

No anymore. 

How to dress for class?

I have apron available but it’s  easier  for kids to wear clothes that are ok to get messy.  I  suggest that kids put on a apron or T-sirt but I can’t guarantee they won’t get paint on their clothes, shoes and even on their hair. Girls please have your hair in a ponytail.


What are the credentials of the instructors?

I'm a self thought artist. I have been teaching children since 2012.  I am finishing an Art Bachelor's degree  at Worcester State University.

Do you offer private lessons?

Yes, DcolorEx offers private lessons for children and adults, but not at this moment. I will offer them again next Fall 2024

 

Can I get a refund?

I do not offer refunds. We do make up classes. 

If for any reason you are not satisfied with what we are doing please let us know!  We will do our best to make it right .  CONTACT US with any questions or inquiries.

What is your sick policy?

Since we sit together sharing art materials, please refrain from sending your child to the studio when they are not feeling well. I reserve the right to restrict admission or send a child home, when in my opinion, that child is ill or risks the health or wellbeing of other children.

Do you have classes where you can come and paint whatever you want? 

Yes adult are allowed to choose their own themes.  

 Can any age come to paint at family Night?  Yes

What if I have never painted before?  

No problem, I teach step by step each lesson.

Can I brink my painting home after  clases?

Yes, we paint we acrylic paints and they are dry to the touch by the end of the class.

 Do you travel outside of your location?

No any more.

How can I book a private Lesson?

Private classes can be reserved by emailing us info@dcolorex.com , or call the studio with dates and times at 774-573-9378  I will call you back as soon  as we find dates that  work for both of us.

Is a deposit due to reserve a class?

Yes, private classes require the host to pay their painting spot. The cost of the  deposit is  the cost of the class. 


 Do you have Gift Certificates for Purchase?

Yes,  DColorEx has Gift Certificates available for any value. 

Is DColorEx Art Studio Wheel Chair accessible?

Unfortunately, It is not Wheel Chair accessible.
