World Finals 2022 at Iowa State University! It was so great to be back in person after the canceled year (2020) and the virtual year (2021). We had not seen all of the wonderful things other schools come up with since World Finals at Michigan State in 2019. Oh the things we saw!! Take a look at some of these outstanding examples of style from the long term problem solutions. These teams comes from New Jersey, Georgia, New York and Poland. It will take some time but DCHS is ready to step up its game next year!
Set Idea - plywood pieces with wood traingle bases
Sets turn around and an additional set piece is wheeled out from behind
Costume idea - pick a material (in this case CDs) and use every part of it creatively. This team peeled off the top layer of the CDs and handpainted them, broke the cases into pieces and handpainted, and cut the CD liner notes into strips to make the headpiece.
Team sign reversed when the scene changed. These are all individually painted pieces of CDs (again, carrying the materials theme).
Costumes should be made, not bought. Using unusual materials can add to the style score. This is a team from Poland.
See that tree stump on the left side? A girl stood up from behind there and the bark turned inside out, revealing a fulll ballgown.
Adding unique materials to sets and costumes can be considerd for style points, This set is constructed out of paint chip samples from a home imporovement store.
Even if you are wearing regular clothes, you need to do something original to enhance the look of these clothes.
