As the smart systems are becoming a reality, we are surrounded by a large number of electronic devices. Autonomous wireless sensing devices, surveillance systems , positioning systems are continuously tracking the activities and state of different entities in its environment. All of these devices are powered by batteries which need to be constantly recharged or replaced. Alternative powering solutions have become vital for these systems.
The projects under these theme are intended to explore, design and advance the technologies associated with energy harvesting at small scale (Micro Energy Harvesting).
The project aims at evaluation and feasibility study of existing techniques to harvest wind energy to power sensors and communication devices. The design of marketable product using novel methods for harvesting the surrounding wind energy is also envisaged.

The project aims at evaluation and feasibility study of existing techniques to harvest vibrational energy to power sensors and communication devices. The design of marketable product using novel methods for scavenging energy from different vibrational energy producing sources in our vicinity is also envisaged.
