Welcome to the central reading and archival index for Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking.
Because Groundbreaking has grown into a long-form multigenerational AU with more than a thousand chapters, multiple historical eras, supplementary materials, and an evolving internal reference system, this page serves as the primary navigation hub for the project.
Use this page to locate a chapter by saga, identify where major eras begin and end, follow the current canonical chapter numbering, and navigate the larger archive without having to scroll through the entire work.
Current published endpoint: Chapter 1380 — The Fluff Dam Opens
Latest publication represented here: August 17, 2026
The AO3 work contains a separate Prologue/Chapter 0 before Story Chapter 1. Because of this, AO3's position number is generally one higher than the story chapter number.

This is the current published era of Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking.
The Horizon's Rest material represents the transition away from the cosmic-war structure that dominated the earlier story. The focus increasingly moves toward restoration, memory, disability, family, institutional change, cultural development, everyday life, and the question of what happens after generations of people have organized themselves around survival.
The saga currently extends through:

The AO3 work begins with:
Prologue (Chapter 0): Of Legends, Continents, and Copyrights
https://archiveofourown.org/works/51600826/chapters/150903745
The prologue occupies AO3's first chapter position.
Therefore:
AO3 Position 1 = Prologue / Chapter 0
AO3 Position 2 = Story Chapter 1
AO3 Position 3 = Story Chapter 2
and so forth.
When navigating the archive, make sure to distinguish between the AO3 position number and the canonical story chapter number.
Under the current numbering:
AO3 Position 1380 = Story Chapter 1379 — The CHIRRU Wristband
AO3 Position 1381 = Story Chapter 1380 — The Fluff Dam Opens
One important editorial correction affects the later Horizon's Rest numbering.
An unintended duplicate publication previously occupied Chapters 1139 and 1140.
The duplicate was consolidated so that:
Chapter 1139 is the single canonical chapter.
Beginning with the following chapter, the former numbering decreases by one.
In other words:
Former Chapter 1141 → Canonical Chapter 1140
Former Chapter 1142 → Canonical Chapter 1141
Former Chapter 1143 → Canonical Chapter 1142
and the corrected sequence continues forward from there.
This was an editorial correction, not a narrative retcon.
No story scenes, chronology, dialogue, characterization, relationships, or worldbuilding were removed or rewritten as a consequence of the correction. The duplicate publication was removed so that the chapter numbering once again represents the intended sequence of the work.
Readers using older indexes, downloaded copies, archival material, or older references may therefore occasionally encounter a chapter number that is one higher than the current canonical number.
When that happens, use the newest master index and current AO3 publication as the authoritative numbering.
For quick reference, the complete published structure currently looks like this:
Chapters 1–259
First Cosmic War Era
Chapters 260–286
Second Cosmic War Era
Chapters 287–754
Third Cosmic War Era
Chapters 755–964
Fourth Cosmic War Era
Chapters 965–1054
Luminary Era
Chapters 1055–1380+
Horizon's Rest Era
Chapters 1–25
The opening saga establishes Gohan's post-Tournament-of-Power search for a philosophy of strength, responsibility, identity, and balance.
Chapters 26–40
The story expands from personal recovery into multiversal governance and the emerging political structures attempting to manage a fragile cosmos.
Chapters 41–74
Omega's return escalates the conflict and transforms the developing political crisis into an existential threat.
Chapters 75–89
The Armageddon Games turn conflict into spectacle as the multiverse prepares for a tournament whose consequences extend far beyond competition.
Chapters 90–125
Gohan confronts the Mystic Warrior prophecy and the responsibilities others have attached to his power and identity.
Chapters 126–142
The aftermath begins a new experiment in multiversal reconstruction, education, and cooperation.
Chapters 143–237
The history and ideological legacy of the Cosmic Sages become increasingly important as supposedly settled conflicts return through institutions, beliefs, and descendants.
Chapters 238–259
The Academy and Cosmic Guardians confront increasingly difficult questions about whether balance can be taught, institutionalized, or imposed.
Chapters 260–286
The Obsidian Dominion and the growing ideological struggle surrounding autonomy, authority, and cosmic governance push the multiverse into another war.
Chapters 287–651
The aftermath of the Second Cosmic War becomes an enormous period of reconstruction, philosophical conflict, cultural development, family change, institutional experimentation, and renewed instability.
Chapters 652–754
The next phase intensifies questions of inheritance and leadership as younger generations increasingly participate in shaping the future built by their predecessors.
Chapters 755–941
The Fourth Cosmic War tests whether the multiverse can genuinely transform the systems that repeatedly reproduce conflict rather than merely rebuilding them under new names.
Chapters 942–964
Ideological disagreements over control, autonomy, guidance, and organic development fracture former alliances and place Goku and Gohan on opposing sides of a larger political divide.
Chapters 965–987
The aftermath of the Fourth Cosmic War forces the surviving institutions and families to confront what their attempts at stability have actually cost.
Chapters 988–1054
The story increasingly turns toward generational transition, life beyond warfare, family, memory, purpose, and the possibility of building a future that is not organized around the expectation of another apocalypse.
Chapter 1055 onward
The wars are over.
The question is no longer simply whether the multiverse can survive.
The question is whether its people know how to live after survival.
Horizon's Rest follows the enormous social, cultural, familial, philosophical, technological, and personal consequences of everything that preceded it. Former warriors become witnesses, teachers, writers, parents, grandparents, archivists, artists, builders, and community members. Younger generations inherit institutions whose original purposes are increasingly distant memories.
Peace does not remove conflict.
Instead, conflict becomes quieter.
It appears through policy, accessibility, cultural expectations, memory, bureaucracy, relationships, public narratives, generational disagreement, care systems, and the pressure to perform recovery correctly.
The Horizon's Rest Saga is the current published saga.
Current endpoint: Chapter 1380 — The Fluff Dam Opens
The following sagas belong to the planned future structure of Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking.
Their chapter ranges are intentionally not assigned yet.
Publication must reach these stories before permanent chapter ranges are established.
A postwar multiverse continues learning how to exist when survival is no longer its organizing principle.
The long work of recovery, memory, culture, and generational transition continues as leadership becomes increasingly decentralized and historical memory becomes something communities actively negotiate.
This is a planned future era.
Its chapter ranges have not yet been assigned.
Softness, care, and accommodation increasingly become subjects of social expectation and political disagreement.
Systems originally associated with regulation and comfort are increasingly commodified, gamified, and transformed into mechanisms of behavioral expectation.
Communities begin reclaiming care as something shared rather than something that must be earned, purchased, scored, or performed correctly.
If you are reading Groundbreaking for the first time, you do not need to memorize the saga structure.
The simplest route is:
Start with Chapter 1 and continue chronologically.
Use this page when you need to:
Find the beginning or ending of a saga
Determine which historical era contains a chapter
Return to a section you previously read
Cross-reference the wiki
Locate material mentioned in discussions or analysis
Check whether an older chapter citation uses superseded numbering
Navigate the project without scrolling through the entire AO3 chapter menu
Because Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking has developed continuously since 2023, some older reference material reflects earlier stages of the project.
When two reference sources conflict, use the most recently updated canonical material unless a page explicitly identifies itself as a historical snapshot.
As a general navigation principle:
Current published story continuity
↓
Current continuity documentation and master index
↓
Current wiki material
↓
Newer supplementary/reference material
↓
Older supplementary/reference material
↓
Historical drafts and archived documentation
Older material is not necessarily being erased.
Much of it remains valuable as a record of how Groundbreaking developed.
However, historical documentation should not automatically override later continuity.
The Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking wiki is intended to function as the project's searchable continuity encyclopedia.
Because the story has grown enormously, some pages may currently be incomplete or outdated.
Readers are encouraged to help document:
Characters
Supporting and background characters
Relationships
Locations
Organizations
Political institutions
Species and cultures
Technologies
Transformations and abilities
Philosophical concepts
Historical events
Saga events
Chapter appearances
Accessibility systems
Terminology
Family structures
Timeline information
Retcons and editorial corrections
Continuity changes
References to relevant chapters
You do not need to have read the entire story to contribute.
Someone who knows twenty chapters extremely well can document those twenty chapters more effectively than someone trying to remember thirteen hundred chapters simultaneously.
The wiki is therefore intended to become an increasingly collaborative archive while remaining subject to continuity review where necessary.
Dragon Ball Super: Groundbreaking has been written and expanded across several years.
As a result, the project itself now has a history.
Older summaries, Daizenshuu material, wiki revisions, supplemental documents, chapter compilations, and archived references may preserve ideas that were later expanded, reframed, corrected, or superseded.
Those materials remain part of the project's development history even when they no longer describe the newest version of continuity.
This master index exists to provide a stable point of entry into that archive.
When in doubt:
Check the newest index.
Check the current chapter.
Check the wiki.
Then follow the citations backward.
